i moved into the apartment in august and then in oct (due to unforseen circumstances) had to break my lease. instead of just skipping out i tried to do the honorable thing and buy out my lease. the manager talked to me on the phone and gave me the information i needed and the amount it would cost to buy out my lease. i then went in and gave over a thousand dollars and signed my 30 notice to vacate on 10/12. it was my understanding after speaking to stephanie that i would be on a payment plan and would owe the other 980 some dollars at the end of november. when i moved out on 11/9 (the day before my 30days was over) i turned in my keys. then a few days later she called me and told me i skipped out on my lease and that i owed novembers rents too. she denied ever having told me about the previous monies. when i went down and got a copy of her notes (that she signed) and called her back she then changed her story again. now she is trying to charge me for carpet cleaning and drip pans (which is included in the re-dec fee that i was already paying)and for the rent for the 1st thru the 12th stating that she never told me it was included in the monies already mentioned above. the office girls were very apologetic and nice and this was not in their control. i guess i'll be going to court anyway for trying to do the right thing!

This kinda happened to me to there. My lease was to end on Sept 30 last year. I gave my notice saying that I will be leaving on or before Sept 30. I paid all of Sept rent. I moved out 2 weeks before the 30th. I turned in my keys right after, in case they wanted to get in there and work on it earlier. I thought I was being helpful. A month goes by, and I never received my deposit back. I called and they told me that I skipped out on my lease and I won't be getting it back! How in the world did I do that??? I paid ALL of Sept rent. Why didn't they tell me that when I went to turn the keys in? I would have gladly kept them a few more days to get my deposit back.
And a second note, the place is gross, my clothes always smelled weird. After I had moved, I no longer smelled that smell on my clothes.
