I moved into Terra Vida because it was cheap was close to school. Also, my friend who was to be my roommate was living on another Walden property and she couldn't break her lease or continue to pay rent on her own. I just want to say that now.
I wouldn't say it's the worst place I've ever lived, but it's not in the top 5 best either. I've had every type of problem imaginable. When we first moved in, our upstairs neighbors insisted on having a dance party every night. I swear to god in heaven, my walls and my ceiling would shake. At first, we would go up and try to be nice. Then we got the management involved'and their response was 'well, they're moving out soon, so, deal with it.' Awesome. Turns out they weren't leaving for 6 months and for 6 months we made a complaint a week, nothing was done, and I lost a hell of a lot of sleep.
We've had cockroaches the size of Ritz cracker.
We've had our window broken by the landscaping people. I mean, seriously, what could they possibly be landscaping' The water fountain ' such as it is ' near our apartment looks like a breeding ground for the West Nile Virus.
Everything in our apartment was broken, broke, or is in the process of breaking.
There's, like, a million stray cats running around. There's, like, a million stray kids running around. There's, like, a million dogs taking a million dumps in the rocks that sit and fester in the hot, AZ sun. Yum, don't you want to come home to that every night'
My boyfriend said to me once, 'This place stinks.' He meant literally.
It's also super special to see people with Mercedes and BMW's driving around. Um, hi, those are drug dealers. And don't get me going on parking. Just, don't. Oh, and PS ' I've had my car broken into. That made me feel very safe.
Look, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't live there by myself, and I would definitely lock my doors at night and maybe keep some weapon around my bed, but it's cheap, it's close to ASU and it's something that I can look back on in 20 years and have a good laugh about.
Terra Vida is kinda like those mattress re-sale places. Sure, the mattresses are cheap and 'look' clean, but they are really full of pee and semen and you'll probably get a disease.
If this place was a listing on TiVo. I would give it a thumbs down.
