After 7 months at the Traditions - RENTERS BEWARE:

After 7 months at the Traditions, there have been my experiences:

While there are no complaints about the actual apartment -- the Management of the complex is extremely POOR. I Point out the following issues:

1. The individual responsible for the collection and postings of rents is, at best, irresponsible and seems to make a lot of "mistakes"-- and at worse, presents an attitude of not caring about the grave mistakes she makes. During one month, I came home to a formal legal notice of eviction - stating I had not paid my rent and was about to be ousted, with attached legal fees. This was on a Friday night -- I had placed my rent check for that month in their night drop box-- so of course, I worried that it had been lost or stolen. I had to be freaked out all Friday night -- and then on SAT AM-- when the office opened and I went to check the matter out, was met with a rude, "Did you get our notice" statement -- then told, "Oh yeah, we made a mistake and credited your rent to another tenet. Gee sorry about that."

That might have been acceptable-- but for the attitude of the Manager -- and that fact that since then -- she has again placed a "you owe us money note-- pay it now or we'll take legal action note on my front door" -- which was another mistake on her part-- and after waiting 2 weeks for her to contact me and discuss the issue (which she ignored my requests) -- she behaved both unprofessionally and extremely agressively with me when I did apprach -- telling me if I didn't like how she did her job-- go report her.

2. Beyond the Management issue at Traiditons -- issues such as broken gates -- remain unfixed for an unsuitable period of time, thus removing the concept of a "locked" or gated community.

3. There have been occasions when the pool has not been kept clean. I pointed this out -- given, especially, that the heat in AZ would encourage the growth of bacteria and set up the tenets for infections.

4. The company refuses to place any type of night security patrol on the premises, which has lead to problems at the complex-- including the most recent: A "mini-Playboy" type photo shoot going on in the Hottub -- which was only stopped by those of us unlucky enough to witness it and to demand an end to the antics, by calling the Police. ( Hardly an family-friendly environment)

5. If you have anything "wrong" in your apartment, forget trying to get the issue taken car of on a weekend. It's MON-FRI deal-- at their timing, despite the fact that WE pay the rent-- and most of us have full time jobs that require us to be gone during their available hours. (Perhaps this is common with all big complexes') It is risky to let the crews into one's apartment -- if you have a pet -- since one of the Managers told me that on 2 occasions when she allowed the workers into her own apartment -- they let one of her animals get out on both occasions. The animal ended on lost, scared, confused and in the middle of an busy street.

6. Originally, there was a common area, which opened out onto the pool -- and also a "24-hour gym" -- which were available to the tenets as part of the perks of renting there. When the new company took over -- from DEC 2006 -- until, I believe, May of June of 2007-- they became essentially unavailable, while the "company" installed security cameras. Now-- one must pay an additional amount of money for a key that allows you into the GYM -- so much for the PERK. The common area is only open during their business times--- which, of course, only serves those people-- such as retired Seniors -- who never have to work. The rest of us, I guess, can glance in at it when we come to pay our rents on the Weekend.

When I originally found the Traditions and considered renting, it was under different ownership and different management, and had an outstanding reputation with the people already living there. From all appearances, it would see the current corporation which now owns the Traiditions either does not know about what the state of affairs is -- which does not excuse them -- or knows and simply does not care.

In either case--- should I have opporunity I would leave the Traiditions ASAP. For sure, I will not renew my lease --and until things dramtically improve -- meaning, NEW MANAGEMENT --- I sternly warn against people RENTING at The Traditions.
