I lived here a few years ago, when it was still Tiburon. When I first moved in, the model was great. I thought I was getting a killer deal, especially for the square footage (I had one of the largest 1-Bedrooms). The trouble started the day I was moving in. I should have taken it as an omen and asked for my deposit back.

As we were unloading the moving truck, a guy comes up to me and says if I give him a case of beer, he will help me move. I politely declined. About two trips later, we head back to the truck and the guy was INSIDE STEALING MY STUFF! I couldn't believe it! Thankfully, he didn't get anything before we scared him off, but it took us alot longer to move since one of us always had to stay with the truck.

My building was towards the back of the complex, so most of the time it was pretty quiet. I had decent neighbors for awhile until they switched to a studio. Then a couple of tweekers moved in. THAT was fun.

I "bought" a key to the fitness center (it was a $25 "refundable" fee) only to discover that there was very little equipment, and what they did have was either seriously outdated, or broken. They tried to make the room look larger with a wall of mirrors, but that only served to accent the lack of machines.

I was told that I would receive a discount on my rent for referring someone to the complex, but was later told that I had to physically go with the person when they filled out their application. I am still trying to make it up to my friend for recommending the place in the first place, and I never got my discount.

The worst problem, by far was the roaches. I am an obsessively clean person, but that did not keep the roaches out. the problem was that the entire building was infested, so each time they would bomb one of the apartments, the bugs would just move to one of the others until THAT one was bombed. It was like migration for roaches. Twice, the other residents in my building and I wrote a petition to the office to have all of the units bombed at once, but they said that the pest control company "didn't have the ability to do 18 apartments in one day". Of course not, because then they would lose out on the money they make for going back over and over again. If they actually KILLED the roaches, they would be out alot of money.

Anyway, the bottom line is, I have a friend that still lives there because he can't afford to move. Although they have made alot of changes, they are purely cosmetic. They promised many things, like new appliances, and such, but the only thing he got was a higher rent payment, which is why he, too is now moving out. Don't be fooled, people. Remember that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Tuscany Palms may look pretty on the outside, but underneath the brightly colored paint is the old, falling apart complex that it always was.

The roaches were the worst that I have ever seen at this hellhole! You could call and ask them to spray and they don't do it. I called several times to have my apartment sprayed, the first time I wasn't there and though they might have until I got a hoard of them waiting for me in the bedroom. The second time I called to have it sprayed it was my day off, they never showed. I called the office and asked when will they spray, they said between 8-5. When I asked could I please have my place sprayed first, the agent got snapping and said they will be by. The third time that I had my place scheduled to be sprayed, it was my wife's day off. They didn't show. We called at least every week for a month and they never stopped by.

RUN!!! THIS PLACE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A ROACH MOTEL. AS I WAS WALKING OUT OF MY APARTMENT I SAW MAINTENANCE CLEANING THE NEXT DOOR APARTMENT AND A BED OF ROACHES FELL DOWN FROM THE CEILING. I MEAN ROACHES EVERYWHERE EVERYDAY. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT. I MEAN I LIVED BAD PLACES IN NEW JERSEY BUT NEVER HAD I SEEN THIS MANY ROACHES. NO MATTER HOW MUCH I CLEANED UP OR BLEACHED MY APARTMENT THERE WAS ALWAYS ROACHES AS IF I WAS LIVING WITH THEM. THE COMPLEX DID NOTHING BUT CONTINUOUSLY HAVE THE PLACE BOMBED BY EXTERMINATION BUT THE ROACHES PROBABLY GAINED A HUMAN IMUNE SYSTEM AS BIG AS THEY WERE. BUT DONT DO IT....
