We moved here from the west coast for the warm weather. The playground and pools were the attraction for us as we have young children. We pay our rent and keep the noise to a minimum, never bother anyone and keep to ourselves.
We have experienced the leaky roof issue a couple of times, they have supposedly taken care of it, but we won't know for sure until we have another heavy rain. We haven't experienced any crime or broken down appliances, although they are old. The dishwasher is new but it leaves residue on the dishes. The pools are extremely dirty and aren't heated very well. The kids enjoy the playground even though it is falling apart.
A month after moving in, we got a notice for our "unsupervised" children by the playground specifically. No problem, we kept them off the playground unless we could be with them. A month later, we got a 10 day eviction notice for the same, this time saying that they were just generally unsupervised and they had come up on a report with other kids regarding damage. Our boys were in the vicinity of the other children that were vandalizing property, so they were guilty by association. I talked with management and they said it wasn't my kids at all that were responsible but they had to send the notices to everyone and crack down on the problem. I have yet to talk to anyone else that got a 10 day eviction notice. I talked to two parents that got a 30 day notice. (and their kids WERE the responsible parties) Still, children are allowed to run around here "unsupervised" and I have choosen to keep mine under lock and key. I can't run the risk of being thrown out.
We feel as though we are being singled out. I have read the complaints about the kids being rowdy here, but I haven't experienced it yet. I am just angry that they tell me in one breath that my kids are great and well behaved, and in the next threaten to kick us out if they are seen anywhere on property with out us.
I know kids will be kids, but this isn't fair. I can't even let my 6 year old take out the trash or go get the mail. I have never lived anywhere that my kids couldn't play outside by themselves. It sucks. It is like a prison for them. I was overheard saying that and got another poison pen letter from management that basically told me to keep my mouth shut. Now my 5th amendment rights are being violated.
Some of the office staff is fine, others are rude. They will tell you one thing, and do another. I wouldn't live here again and I would not at all recommend it because of the kid issue.
We are looking forward to our lease expiring next year and finding a house with a backyard where our boys can run and play by themselves.

Hey laura! Great review! I know we did not get off on the right foot and you felt attacked. Really we send notices to all parents once it becomes clear there is a problem, but hey we know KIDS will be KIDS. BUT when kids are falling into the pool or going into other peoples patios, or going with unknown people, IT IS A DANGER for those kids. We love kids at Villa Fiesta and don't want to see one kidnapped killed or run over. The office staff can't be babysitters so the parents really need to do their jobs.
