Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
I lived in this apartment complex for a little less than a year and a half and actually paid extra money to break my lease early. At first I was very happy to live at Village Green. The residents were very friendly, the price was right especially with the included utilities, and the grounds were pretty well kept. A few months after resigning my lease there were many issues which made this place pretty intolerable. New residents began moving in and they enjoyed thumping their music either in thier apartments or cars late at night, one of my new neighbors liked to smoke substances in their apartment which I normally wouldn't care about except the smell would leak into my apartment so whenever I came home at night my place was filled with the scent, and you could always hear them fighting. Then there were some incidents which made me feel really unsafe. There was a murder at the apartment complex (which is still unsolved!), a few weeks later I came home to find the police at the complex because someone had pulled a gun, my boyfriend's car antenna was stolen off his car, and a couple months later my car window was smashed in. The officer that came to take the report about my car told me that it was well known that people would cut through the apartment parking lots in that area in order to avoid the police that cruise along the main roads. Also, when I would come home from work late at night there were always groups of people who didn't even live there just hanging around on the grounds. It also seemed as though some of the residents were participating in some small time drug dealing. It got to the point that I dreaded going home and so decided that I would rather be out money than live there any longer, so I broke my lease. Some other annoying things about the apartment were that the pool was shut down numerous times and the water was green, the air conditioning is actually evaporative cooling so it doesn't get super cold in the summer, I could hear anything that was going on outside my front window or door which wasn't too bad until I got loud neighbors. I will say that the staff at Village Green are really great but that just doesn't make up for all of the negative things about this place. I found that for a bit more money I could rent a much bigger apartment in a much safer area. I strongly suggest that you think twice before moving into this apartment!!!
