Bad experience

Years at this apartment: 1997 - 1998
This was my first apartment when I was 18. I liked the floorplan ok. I was at the far back of the community so it was nice as far as parking and noise went (we were very loud). I lucked out and got really great neighbors who I became close friends with. Maintenance was always good. But now I have to tell you about my bad expirience. I was in a situation with my ex were he was threatening me. It had gotten to the point were he had held me at gunpoint and I had a judge tell me the only way I would be safe was to move. I went to the managment and told them the whole story and showed them my court documents. They told me that I would not be let out of the lease unless I paid $2000. I offered to stay in the complex if they would move me to another apartment in a different area until my lease was up. They then told me that I would have to pay a transfer fee and my rent would go up almost $100. I ended up moving to another place and having to pay the fees. I couldn't believe they wouldn't show some compassion. It wasn't like I wanted to move for no reason. Horrible managment! This was in 1998 so they might be under new management, but you should definatley make sure first. I wouldn't want to live somewhere that cared more about money than the safety of their residents in a life or death situation.
P.S. My friends car was broken in to twice in 6 months.
