For the price and area, it is hard to beat these appartments. A one bedroom nearby is approx 700 dollars a mo in rent. When I first got here, it was exciting to be on my own and feel safe. I no longer feel as safe and worry sometimes it will not get better. Several neighbors witnessed drug deals in the parking lot.[the police told my roommate to report crimes such as drug activity immediately when we had spoke to them concerning another matter (fall 08)] A car was stolen among other things, car windows shattered and cars were broken into. [also according to police break ins/vandalism were happening from area to area( fall 07)] This is known to me by personal experience and communicating with a few neighbors first hand. As a whole community we seem to keep our mouths shut in hopes that we will be left alone. I hope that as residents here we can voice our concerns without being told its slander or untrue. It seems like the 'bad' guy (theives, users or abusers) tend to have a break when they commit their crimes but not the victims who work hard and stay quiet. Maybe its a society problem and not a Lake Pleasant one, dont know. Most of us stay busy and dont complain in fear of retailation. Despite if issues get addressed by management (like issues mentioned in other blogs) or not, perhaps if we communicate to each other we can work towards a safer place to reside by awareness. Just a thought.
