Ok - now that I have moved out (I put a couple of negative reviews on here before) I can write the complaint book I have been wanting to.
Early 2006 - My wife and I were relocating to AZ from IL. Due to the demands of my employment I needed a place fast. I should of know the customer service was poor - when we had to call to see if we got a apartment, then had to deliver cashiers checks and were not allowed to pick up the keys until the day of move in. No move in inspection - handed me a paper - never saw the apartment or knew its location - it was being "prepared" - which means the cleaned the crappy carpet - (See my post from last July) nothing like repeat appearances of previous tenants pet stains (I hope it was a pet) - so we move in - carpet still damp - garage dirty - the tub drains plugged up from the painters dumping paint down them - etc -
1st year - besides the crappy internet and overpriced DirecTV - not all that bad. 2nd year - water heater blows - their solution' go take a shower in a model unit 2 buildings over - glad it was July - nothing like walking in your robe down the road at 5AM to take a shower when it's already 100 outside - OH and bring a shower curtain - there isn't one - oh and don't touch anything. Ok.. so we endue that fiasco - and -------- the manager says - no problem - we'll compensate you for the inconvenience (-------- translation = I'm not going to do anything and hope you forget) I DON'T FORGET (See below)
Ok - we look at a couple of places to rent - decide - well it's not a bad place to stay - renew - mistake - we get new neighbors upstairs - oh - they have two teenagers - (bracing for noise) Hum. no real noise - they keep to themselves - nice - well - except - they cut their hair on their patio and dump it over the side - wow - my wonderful cactus collection I have been growing now have ----'s - they look like Chia Pets!!! Complain - they said they called them. Ok.. couple weeks later - wow - I come home from a business trip - looks like a barber shop exploded all over my patio - now i have a hairy grill to cook on - uuuummm - called - ------comes out and takes pictures -
OK - now it's time to move - Qwest service has gone below dialup speed - can't work from home anymore - call Qwest and get the same story about the Lodge not wanting to upgrade - I ask for the business division - request a T1 - I'll pay - no can do they say.. damn... ok.. so I call COVAD - I need help!! Covad checks - no problem - 3 weeks later I have a business T1 - OK so it cost $400 a month - I need it for my work - and who installed it QWEST!!! Go figure that one out.
Things are looking up - I'm in Atlanta on business - get call from my wife telling me there is a tow sticker on my truck - parked in front of my unit - with valid tags - I call the office livid - I have the only key - can't do anything for 3 more days until I come home - I get told from -----that -------- pointed out the vehicles to tag because it has spider webs around the wheels - let's see - if I leave my broom outside overnight it has cob webs on it - nothing he can do - I threaten to sue and report it stolen if its towed - comes back with - well the property owners are coming for a inspection and -------- doesn't want anything out of place - Ahh.. ok - call wife have her take the broom and brush webs off car - disaster diverted - now you get to see what kind of place this is - and we're model tenants - no noise - no constant complaining - my rent is on auto pay 3 days early every month - all for this crap.
Well - happy times approach - it's ------of this year and we found a house - with a pool - 6 miles away - oh gee - snap - it's $100 less than we WERE paying!!!! renewal letter from the Lodge shows up - gee you think they want to keep us - maybe that "something for the inconvenience" would show up - nah - buy the way - were RAISING YOUR RENT! - and if you don't like it - move - well ok by me - We give notice 4/25 - were outta there before the lease expires and we will probably be out 5./31 - (lease runs to 6/30)
5/31 - we're out - had professional cleaners come in and clean the place - spotless - well you know about the carpets - they have to be 4 years or older - we turn in the keys, remotes, etc.. follow all the rules - told by -----we'll be called for the move out inspection - he'll get a hold of ------- well that call never comes - now my wife is optimistic about getting the security deposit back - I'm not - I bet we'll have to fight - I check the law - hum - 14 days from turnover of possession (business days) for the lodge to give us itemized list of charges and the deposit monies - HAHAHA.. well.. finally on 7/5 the letter we've been looking for shows up - oh wait - there is no check - oh it's a bill - for - CARPET CLEANING $70 and a final water bill with a transfer fee!!! No deposit refund - now I am really pissed off with them.
7/6 - time for a personal visit - we see the girl in the office - ask whats this all about - she goes oh the carpet cleaning is standard - I'm like here is the receipt from the cleaning company - i don't think so - oh whats the deal about the water bill.. oh that's a standard transfer fee. What'' we were never told this - Oh she says, as I produce the final water bill from Conserve for $21 - not their noted one for $41 - she says see its right here online - that's funny there isn't anything here. Oh... I see... OK, where is our deposit - OH she says - that comes from our corporate office - let's see - law says 14 days from surrender of possession - my calendar says 6/19 - it's 3 weeks late - Oh well you'll have to talk to ------then she handles all this - (Why did I waste this time then) ok, when will ------be in - she thinks maybe Wednesday the 9th - I'm not calling them - real simple - no deposit by the 10th (nothing as of today the 7th) - it goes to a lawyer - law is real clear - not refunding the deposit as required by law is willful then you can sue the landlord for it and 2 times the amount for failure to obey the law - since I paid my rent for June (my mistake) I guess my $500 deposit will come back as $1500 from court - wow - just what a new month would cost - I really hate having to deal with people like this - to everyone who is in love with this place - We were too - wait- you will fall out of love soon - to any prospective residents - PASS THIS ONE UP - don't believe me - park there on the 1st weekend of the month and count the moving trucks heading out - 4 times the amount coming in - that should tell you enough.
See -------- - I don't forget things - and I will sign my name - Kevin Krieger

What a joke! I know that the lodge does not take cash or plastic. If this guy had a deposit, would'nt he be able to prove it with a cancelled check or a bank statement? I gather that a type-0 on his lease turns into a winning lottery ticket for him . How dishonest. being said......consider the rest of his review.
