this is the worst place i have ever lived.

We have had a scorpion and bug problem since my husband and i moved in a year ago.

We had 3 black widows in one night in our apartment so we got a hotel for the night.

I went down to the front office the next morning to tell them about the spider problem but they said we had to wait 3 days till the people could come and spray! ridiculous.....i have lived in numerous apartments in the valley.

this one, from the outside is beautiful, but they have a major bug issue.

The front staff is so rude (except for Kim)and the amount of scorpions i have seen in crazy! I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Having been in the Exterminating business in AZ, scorpions are nomadic and travel a known territory, but this review was written in November when these lil guys are usually dormant. Must have been some construction or irrigation going on. Check the clearance of the threshold of your front doors (even the sides). if there is enough space to pass a nickle through, a scorpion can get in. The light colored 'Bark Scorpion' is the one to watch for as their toxins can be damaging to little kids and elderly. Calling for an exterminator in November is easy and fast. Most pest control stops during the winter, but is very much in demand in the summer months. Exterminators are chomping at the bit to make money - especially during the winter, so insist on an emergency pest control treatment, you should get it. The best defense for scorpions in AZ are house cats. They don't miss a trick! They'll spot a scorpion in a heart-beat and bat it around until it's dead. Scorpions only come out to hunt at night unless disturbed during the day, so if you think you have a problem,. go to Spencers Gifts (or some place like it) and buy an inexpensive portable black-light. Walk through your place @ 1 AM with the black-light on and any scorpion will illuminate very brightly (yellowish-green/white). If you have many many ... ask the front office for a "Scorpion Cleanout" service. It takes longer and residual chemicals will be used. Also, look for the nooks and crannies around windows, storage sheds, around pipoes under your sinks, bushges next to your front door, trees and foliage over hanging your balconies and roof. Scorions will get on the roof and make a bee line for any open pipes that offer cool or warmth. The bathroom fans above the toilets are a favorite 'pathway' scorpions can use to 'drop-down' into your home by way of the vent pipes on your roof. They also crawl up stucco walls and get in through your attic, so the little vent holes need small sized screens tacked up to prevent them from entering your attic. Watch your shoes or wet towels you may leave out after a swim, ... scorpions are drawn to moisture because they know other insects need water, so they wait and ambush their food seeking the same cool they need. All the above info is known to any good exterminator or one who specializes in themany types of scoriopns AZ has. It is worth an investment in time and materials as well as regular pest service monthly in the spring and summer months, ... then quarterly in the winter. Even if the property only has their exterminators come out on an intermittent basis, you may want to establish a good contact/rapport with a smaller company so they offer the personal touch and get to know you and your needs. Call backs are usually free so it behooves the expterminators to do a thorough job the first time! Remember, ... AZ has many desert dwellers, and knowledge about them can be fun as well as proactive. You MUST take responsibility for your safety, don't rely on the management to be as passionate as you are (or as paranoid)about being bug free. I've NEVER seen a bug-free place in AZ ... you live in the desert, you take what it offers and do all you can to protect yourself. Hope this helps. Good luck. I live in a Sares-Regis property in Southern California and love it. Everyone is great and very responsive. Excellent amenities and the grounds are spectacular, ... and , ... NO BUGS! :-)
