My husband and I moved in about a month ago and our experience is mixed. The grounds are beautiful and the apartment layouts are creative and open with tall ceilings and lots of light--they were some of the best-designed of the dozens we looked at in Phoenix and lovely for the price. And, unless you have to go to north Phoenix/Scottsdale regularly the location is superb: convenient but still near nature and open spaces.

However, the scorpions are real, and a little TOO much nature for me. We've had two in a month on the second floor (one right by the bed where I walk at night in my bare feet). We've already had them spray once after the first one, and have called them out to spray for the second time and caulk this time too. I'm optimistic but I need to see some results; coming from Florida I am not bug-shy by any means, but mosquitoes and crickets and roaches (of which I've seen zero, by the way) do not paralyze you in agonizing pain for a day or more. Scary! Of course, I know we back up on the desert and they were here first, but reading about and talking with many other people who live in and have grown up in Phoenix, scorpions are NOT something you normally see several of every month. I hope they leave soon...

Otherwise, we have had a million minor things break in our apartment since moving in (thermostat, dishwasher seal, seal on patio door, blinds, shower finish and more), but maintenance has always responded right away and replaced or fixed everything gladly and quickly. The spray guys come for free however often you want them, though of course that's only a bonus if the spraying actually WORKS, which remains to be seen. The staff are all friendly, maybe a little ditzy, but otherwise helpful and concerned.

Internet has been an absolute disaster, they've changed companies to Ygnition but working from home or attempting anything using any amount of bandwidth (especially during peak times) is a joke. We've had them promise to resolve that by putting in a 100meg cable "soon", and again, if they do we'll be satisfied but it's gotten us pretty hot-tempered right now.

So in a nutshell, there are a million things to complain about here but the staff have seemed quite eager to get them resolved. Stuff is breaking because it's about the end of the life expectancy for the things that were new (like appliances and fixtures) when the apartment was built, so I can understand that. We still love the area and the grounds and the apartment layout, and feel that the price is reasonable. I'm sure there are better and worse places, depending on what bothers you.

YES THERE ARE QUITE A FEW SCORPION COMPLANTS.

I worked there when this apartment complex was built. The first part (L shape) of the building were built first. Then they broke ground on the ones behind the first building. This caused all of the scorpions whom were in the dirt to move towards the apartments that were built already although im sure alot moved to the new apartments after they were built too. Scorpions have always been a problem there. I suggest getting a black light (scorpion glow under a black light) a search your home for them. this is the only sure way you will find them all. Good Luck
