I lived at Thunderbird Ranch for 2 years and overall it wasn't too bad. For the first few months, getting maintenance to do anything was hard but I was able to finally get service by waiting until the office was full of prospective customers and mentioning again all the problems and having photographs with me. Five men showed up within an hour and fixed everything and even some things I hadn't noticed. The only things I had a problem with was very selective enforcement of the rules regarding patio blinds and that their cable provider was some crappy bankrupt provider. The whole time I lived there, I was not aware of any problems. It was nice.

A year or so ago I drove through the place and it seemed very different. A lot of younger people hanging out everywhere and I noticed that many of the surrounding businesses had closed and were heavily vandalized. It didn't feel safe anymore.

I thought of renting there. I liked it. But, I wasn't secure with the location because you have to come out into a lot of heavy traffic. But, if I could find a way around that, I'd probably rent there.
