Do not live here

I lived at Avalon Hills for nearly 3 years. During this time, it was almost impossible to reach the office for anything. And whenever I needed emergency after-hours assistance, I would have to leave 4 or 5 messages and still got no response from them. I realize that the new management is trying to improve the property, but what they're doing is forcing all the old tenants who have lived there for any extended period and who have complained about anything..to move out. We had told them two months before our lease ended that we were not going to renew our lease, and they actually had the nerve to on the day before my wedding to leave a note on the door stating they had decided not to renew our lease. I was so maddened by this, because now they made it look like it was their decision and not ours. Not only that, but my car had been broken into and items stolen once and then about 2 months before we moved out, my car was actually stolen! When I read other reviews stating that car thefts were happening all over the complex, it makes me even more sure not to recommend this place to anyone. And then, last fall I had to miss a day of work due to the flooding of the apartments parking lot. The water had backed up so bad that the bottom of my car was completely beneath water. However, out on the streets it was perfectly clear. This just showed how poorly equiped the apartment complex was for severe thunderstorms!! Oh, and maintenance...now that was another sore issue. Whenever any of these men came over, it was to do a quick job and be out of there. It makes it hard to feel appreciated or even somewhat like you're welcome when even the staff shows indifference toward you. Lastly, the manager has such a chip on his shoulder, that when I first saw him my first instinct was "wow this guy sure things he's the best" and that is a major downfall in owning or managing an apartment complex. With this being said, I would ONLY recommend these apartments to those who have just as big a chip on their shoulder as the manager...and if that's the case...you deserve to live there. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk
