we are in the process of moving out and thank god! let me preface this review with saying that we are not by any means bitter people, just feel very jaded by our experience with this complex and want others to know the honest truth about living here despite what other people who may settle for "less than quality" may say in their reviews.
during the time we have lived here, we've gotten numerous phone calls and letters to pick up after our dog or else suffer a hefty fine. the thing is... we were already picking up after her! they just kept hassling us because an unknown suspect (one of the leasing agent's husbands) would take their dogs over to our area and let them poop and not clean it up (we have actually witnessed this.) my husband was in the office one day talking to the leasing agent about something totally unrelated and he heard another woman literally yelling at the apartment manager (her name is Rhonda) because she too was tired of getting these notices.
also, there is a lot of crime in the complex. we are buying a house right now and we had to go through an extra step because the mortgage credit report showed our address as "potentially fraudlent." people get their identity stolen from here SO much that it will show up on your credit report for creditors to take an extra step to verify you. my husband and i JUST TODAY (and i am not lying!) caught a guy going into the dumpster with a backpack to steal people's personal papers. this is the SECOND time we have caught people doing this. not only that, but car theft is huge here as well as other crimes... i think it is because it is so close to the 101 and the i-17. tip: buy an extremely good diagonal paper shredder or else lose your identity to some crook.
the gates are broken about once a month. when the gates are broken, they are broken for at least 2 weeks each time. this allows anyone access into the complex.
the parking, despite what other reviews may say, is a not-so-fun situation. if you get home early in the day then you will have no problem finding a spot. but, if you arrive home in the evening (especially on a weekend) GOOD LUCK finding parking.
the walls are paper thin and we can hear everything our neighbors above us are doing. it is horrible. when they use the bathroom, we can actually hear them "using the bathroom" and then flush. it sounds like a a waterfall is going through our walls. although this problem is not as critical as some of the other ones ive listed, i just want you to be aware of this.
another complaint i have is our a/c unit went bad in the middle of summer. the maintenance guy could not fix it but the apartment manager kept insisting he could. she refused to send out a company to get it fixed. finally, our bill was getting so high because the a/c would not turn off as it simply did not have the power in it to cool down our little 700 something feet apartment so it would run allll dayyy lonngg. the bill eventually came to $260 for the tiny apt and i called the apt manager. she advised me that i needed to call the aps billing department if there was a problem with our a/c bc shes done all she can do. i dont know about you, but last time i checked aps does not handle your personal a/c. this situation was a nightmare.
in addition, we have a washer and dryer in our unit. we would be sure to empty the lint catcher in the dryer every time we used it but somehow our entire little apartment would end up covered in dust so quick. there would also be an extremely thick lint trail collected to the laundry area wall.
BASICALLY, i would definitely not live here ever again. like i said, we are happy people and do not normally complain... but this has been an awful experience in general.
