Yo!

Definitely going downhill ...

I moved into this complex in october of 1003 when I considered the complex very nice. The nice part is only surface. I moved out in November 2004 and it is true that previous management was much nicer that the new people there. I'll get to how I know that towards the end here. Up till February of 2004 the complex was a nice place to live. Them towards the end of February to the beginning of march we were informed that the entire complex would be going through an underground plumbing reconstruction. I went on a trip the first week of March and came home to mounds of dirt throughout the complex grounds, side walks were gone that were originally there and the ones that were left had insecure wooden bridges that were only a piece of plywood with a 2 x 4 nailed to each side, it was a mess and not safe. Towards June we were informed that the construction was coming to an end and all would go back to normal. Well in fact it did not go back to normal until the end of August. However, in June, since we had been informed all this construction would be done soon, I moved from me one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment in anticipation of getting a roommate. While moving I not only had to go completely in other directions to avoid dirt mounds but damaged my leather sofa. While going over one of the nice wooden bridges that were constructed, the sofa caught on 3 exposed nails and tore the back of it. Nothing was ever done about this, not even a "I'm sorry". The sofa is only 2 years old and was still in new shape. In September, due to the amount of vacancies, the leasing agents decided to rent to just anyone who would rent there. I am a single 40 year old male with no children. The apartment next to me which was a 2 bedroom became vacant. It was then rented to a single mother who worked and had 3 children that moved in with her, a set of twins 11 years of age and a 16 year old daughter. The management was told that there was one more son that would on occassion stay with the family, that in other times he stayed with his father. The real issue was, he was in a Juvenile Detention Center at the age of 15 for 6 months and that he would not just be staying occassionally but permanent. Now even though I am a 40 year old male with no children that does not mean I dislike children, however this complex has absolutely no facilities for children to play or enjoy themselves. It was mostly a single professional to retirement age people who lived in this complex with few exceptions. Now there must be 50 children in about 150 apartments. After this family moved in next to me, sharing the same staircase, I attempted to accept it for one month. In October, I placed my 30 day notice. I have a health condition that I cannot have large amounts of stress. After seeing my doctor, he was very concerned and questioned what was stressing me out. My lease included a 250.00 concession and also had in it that if I break my lease I must pay a fee of 1200.00 to do so. I agreed to pay back the concessions but told them I would not pay the 1200.00 because I was moving out due to issues with the complex. After I had put in my notice, by 2 weeks, new management suddenly without any kind of notice walked in and took over the complex. I had already written an claims letter to the claims management with the previous management, now my letter is no good and the new management have not only taken my deposit but also are trying to charge me the 1200.00. I do not recommend this complex to anyone at all. All of the events that have taken place in just under a year have completely made me hesitant of living in another apartment complex.

Now the reason I know about the rudeness of the new apartment management is because I own a cruise agency that till recently was home based. A few of my packages were accidentally sent there. I have twice had to call about an important package, once just this week when I was completely mistreated over the telephone. The last incident that woman actually called the police out on me after grabbing the package out of my hands that I had already shown my ID and signed for.
