I just moved in October of 2007. Now I myself am a property manager for a different company and have no connection with Maxx. I work for ConAm and as a property manager I have high expectations of the management. I like this complex. the problems that people have complained about are normal things that happen with apartment living.

This is the problem. MOST PEOPLE DON'T COMPLAIN TO MANAGEMENT!!! You have to complain so things can get better. I always go to the office when I have an issue in my courtyard and things get taken care of right away. Like last week there were kids screaming at 11pm and I complained the next morning. Since then it has not happened again. The residents were served with a notice. But don't stop complaining. If it happens ten times then complain ten times. FYI management has to serve a resident with 3 ten day non compliance notices so they can be legally evicted. So if you stop complaining then you are hindering managments ability to take care of these matters for you.

As far as plumbing, I have never had an issue. I haven't experienced the water being shut off and the gates work just fine. Although when they do break it's because a RESIDENT ran into the gate with their car and broke it. I live by the gates and saw it happen a few times. PEOPLE! STOP WHEN YOU GET TO THE GATE AND WAIT FOR IT TO OPEN!!!! Also i'm happy with the fitness center. I use it almost every day and all the equipment works. I have two other friends that I reffered and they are happy too.

Since I've been here I did see a car broken into. I saw the broken glass on the floor. People this happens everywhere. I used to live at Lexington on Central where you pay $900 a month for a 1 bedroom and someone stole my car. It was a Honda Accord and I had just purchased it 3 months prior, brand new. I was so heart broken :( But so far no one has messed with my car.

HERES A FEW TIPS. 1) Lock your car and roll the windows up. I have had so many people say someone stole something from their car and they admitted it was not locked. 2) Get an alarm. 3) Get a CLUB. It works!!!! Thieves want easy targets. If your car has a CLUB then they will pass to the next car to avoid the extra time to cut through it. 4) Park where it's well lit and 5) DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR. IF YOU LEAVE YOUR PURSE WALLET CHANGE MONEY BAGS ETC THEN YOU ARE MAKING YOURSELF A TARGET!
