First, I must in all fairness say the management here does truly strive to make this a good place to live in this neighborhood. Maintenance requests are responded to promptly and they are making serious efforts to keep up and improve the place.
My only real complaint is with their air-conditioning system. It is a centralized water-chiller system and when the chiller breaks down no one has any cooling. There have been frequent problems this year with the chiller in my building. The worst case was when it was down for 4 days. This was at the height of summer in Phoenix when the daytime temperatures well exceed triple digits!
Also, since the system uses chilled water, in the spring and fall when the night-time temperatures begin to drop, it is necessary for them to turn the chiller off so that water in the pipes doesn't freeze and burst the pipes. However, with outdoor daytime temps in the 80's this makes for extremely hot indoor temperatures.
I was forced to get my own window AC unit and use it to maintain a comfortable temperature inside my apartment. However, personal window AC units are forbidden, so to maintain comfortable temperatures inside my apartment I by necessity must violate the lease.
