Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007

i just wanted to put my experience here at Clarendon Park out there for all to read. I have been here for about 3 years. By far it is the best place I have ever lived! It is so quiet inside the apartments and out. When I go into the leasing office for any reason at all they are always very pleasant. The grounds are always picked up. Every morning you'll see the maintenance guy cleaning the pool. As long as I've lived here the pool and spa are always working and heated. The gates are always working so we have a safe property. If you look up the crime stats they are by far the best in phoenix. You read some of these reviews and it looks like children just playing around. I wanted to give you a real expirience from someone who really lives here and has been here long enough to know this is consistantly an amazing place to live.

When I first moved here I was extremely impressed with Clarendon Park???s aesthetics. The place was well kept - the grass and shrubbery were well manicured, and the studio apartment overlooking the pool, seemed like a renter's dream! But within one month of my tenancy, sugar turned to shyt very quickly! There were loud pool parties at all hours of the night. Slow courtesy patrol that always seemed to arrive on the scene long after the disturbance was over. Needless to say, dealing with management on this issue was like trying to put toothpaste back in the tube! After months of complaints, management issued a letter stating that the pool was no longer open 24 hours and would henceforth close at 10 pm. Well, when I got the letter regarding the new pool hours, I called the leasing office and asked what the consequences were if someone was caught in the pool after hours. The office manager attempted to bullshyt his out of giving me a proper response. After a failed attempt at a productive conversation, I came to the realization that the letter was just another GrayClow smoke screen, designed to pacify its tenants. Parking is a nightmare here! The first 2 months I lived here, I was parking in the wrong spot because the lady in the leasing office gave me the wrong information. Thank goodness I was never towed. After moving into a 2-bedroom apartment ??? attempting to escape the noise at the pool ??? I was given a space inside one of the enclosed parking garages. Well, this turned out to be no better that parking on the street. My neighbors blatantly left the garage doors open and when I complained to management ??? the new manager told me there was nothing she could do about ??? even though it was listed as a mandatory provision in MY lease. Talk about pissing on your leg and calling it rain! Then came my introduction to the neighbors. The guy next door positioned his stereo right next to our SHARED wall and blasted his music so loud; it almost shook the pictures off my wall. Then my downstairs neighbor started beating the crap out of his girlfriend. Sometimes, his blows were so hard; I could almost feel it when he whacked her! And how could I forget the neighbor I affectionately call, Puff the Not-So-Magic Dragon. For a year I had to keep my windows and doors closed, because chain-smoking Betty was out there everyday and night, puffing away with her one good lung! Yes, I recommend living here if you are into being tortured ??? hey I hear some people are actually into that sort of thing! |

On Wednesday, 12-27-06, at approximately 2 pm, I hand-delivered a letter to the leasing office. The letter documented my complaints regarding the excessive noise coming from the apt above me. I also presented a CD recording of the noise coming from said apartment. While I was speaking one of the support staff members, the Office Manager rudely interrupted the conversation. She seemed to be extremely irritated by my presence. The office manager boldly stated that she didn't care what was on the CD and went on to say that as far as she was concerned, I could have made the whole thing up! The office manager further stated that she was NOT going to evict someone for running back and forth, dropping things on the floor, or playing loud music (funny at least one of these things is mentioned in my lease as a reason to evict someone). I sat and listened as she went on and on about how I needed to prove to her that the person/people in apartment above me were actually creating a disturbance. I asked her to listen to the CD. She said that she would, but also stated that my CD was worthless as far as she was concerned. I asked the office manager where are this bureaucracy was when she sent me an unsigned 10-day notice claiming I was throwing trash from my balcony. I asked her what proof she used to send me that threatening letter. The office manager said that I called her and told her I was throwing things from my balcony. Utterly disgusted, I got up and left the office. That same evening, at 5:28 pm, I received a call from a greyclow supervisor. The supervisor seemed to be trying to downplay the issue by saying things like, "Well, maybe the kid upstairs got a jump rope for Christmas." Or, my personal favorite, "Are you sure the noise is coming from that apartment?" I started to tell the supervisor that when someone one knocks on my door, I don't run to the window and say, "Who is it?" However, the supervisor stated that they would give the woman in the apartment above me a courtesy call, "to see if she is all right". "To see if she is all right?" I thought to myself. No one is stomping and banging over her head all day and night. Of course SHE is all right! The supervisor stated that if I had any other problems to call her back and they would take it to the next level. I should have asked, "what's the next level from nothing?" Ladies and gentlemen, ask yourself one question, is this the kind of customer service you want to be subjected to? |
