1. These apartments are poorly insulated. That means high heating and cooling bills. This is especially true of the larger, corner apartments and the units above the garage. I spent the winter freezing and the summer roasting. There was NO happy medium; only sky high APS bills.
2. If you enjoy peace and quiet, do not move here. The walls are really thin and most of the people who live here are really loud. Management seems to have a knack for renting to inconsiderate, RUDE tenants. Personally, I had to put up with 10 months of my upstairs neighbor's stomping, screaming, fighting, and chanting to Buddha! When I complained, management's solution was that I move to a different apartment! Well, excuse me! Whatever happened to notifying the bloody noise makers and asking THEM to keep it down? I guess that concept died when the new owners took over.
3. If you are a non-smoker, beware! The apartments with balconies may not be the apartment for you. If ANY of the tenants close to your apartment are smokers, you are going to have to contend with second hand smoke, or you will simply have to learn how to live with keeping your bloody windows and patio doors shut - permanently! I used to live above the maintenance guy s apartment and ALL he and his girlfriend/wife seemed to do is smoke one ciggy after the other! It was horrendous, I tell you! Oh, yeah... that reminds me of another FACT you need to consider: these apartments are so poorly ventilated that second hand smoke can actually get into your apartment through the AC. So, even if you keep your doors and windows shut, YOU ARE NOT SAFE. When I told management that I had a health condition and could not take cigerette smoke they told me to move out or buy a house! If anyone thinks I am lying, I will gladly post the email they sent me. I save and record everything from emails to the messages on my answering machine - everything!
4. The garages that come with some of the units, offer little to no protection for you or your car. In the space of two months, we got TWO letters from management stating that people's cars had been broken into because residents were leaving their garage doors open. Now, here is the part you are just going to REALLY love. Right after one of these notices was sent; we went to management about OUR neighbor ALWAYS leaving her/our garage door open. And, guess what? NOTHING HAPPENED. All management did was try and pacify us with crooked smiles and empty promises! How's that for a kick in the pants!
5. Customer service is the pits. Don't take my word for it, just read the previous comments. People have been moving out of this complex left and right and with very good reason! Allow me to list a FEW of the reasons I am no longer a resident at Clarendon Park: THE NEW MANAGER, IN MY OPINION, SEEMS VERY DISHONEST! WORK ORDERS ARE NOT BEING FOLLOWED UP ON IN A TIMELY MANNER! The grounds are poorly kept. There are large amounts of dust accumulating on the stairs and in the hallways. -------- used to power-wash the stairs. Now, we are lucky if the NEW MAINTENANCE GUY picks of the Jack in the Box cup that was left lying on the ground FOR TWO WEEKS! The bushes are seldom trimmed. Some of the bushes are so high; they are now blocking the security night lights. And to make matters worse, burned out lights are not replaced in a timely manner. Folks, if your idea of awarding winning service is a smile and a slow response, this may be the place for you! If not, I suggest you keep looking.
6. For the prices these people are asking, you could do much better. The appliances are old as Moses and they are ALWAYS breaking down. When management fixes something, it is NEVER DONE RIGHT. So, a few days later, you have request another work order and wait another two weeks to have them improperly fix your broken appliances.
7. I dare you ask them for the name of the complex they used to own! I just dare you! There is a REAL good reason they are hiding behind an LLC and not bothering to mention the names of the properties they used to own!
IF YOU MOVE HERE AFTER READING THIS, YOU WILL ONLY HAVE YOURSELF TO BLAME! YOU CAN'T SAY I DIDN'T TRY TO WARN YOU!!!!!!!!

I can't speak for you guys, but every time I spoke with the NEW and RIDICULOUS property manager about an issue that she failed to follow through on or something that she completely screwed up, she offered me the same stupid, lame excuses, "oh, I have been in court and I forgot." Or, "yeah, well... I am still trying to get caught up on my paper work... the last office staff left the place a mess!" She seemed to blame everything on --------. I think I should give -------- a call and play them the recordings I made. ;-) Maybe they will sue their asses for slander. :-) Frankly, I donā??t care what excuses this woman comes up with! The truth is; she is the one that is creating a god-awful mess around here. I think this woman is a horrible manager. I think she is a joke! I feel she has no idea what she is doing. And, I also think she is all about M-O-N-E-Y and L-I-E-S! I honestly feel like NOTHING is beneath this person. Every time I have a face to face conversation with this woman I feel like I need a hot bath and a tetanus shot! My advice to anyone living here and anyone dumb enough to move in here WATCH YOUR BACK AND COVER YOUR BEHIND! Because trust me, she is going to cover hers! Did you guys know that before she stopped the water bills, she actually told me that the reason she was doing it was because the water bills were not bringing in enough money! Then she told me that she was going to make changes because she felt that she could get a lot more money for these apartments. Everything out of her mouth was money this and money that! When I asked her where she used to work, all she would say is that they used to own property in west phoenix. When I asked her where she used to work months later, she said she used to work in Tempe. From that moment on, I knew what she was all about!!! All this shyt about resident socials and movie nights is a bunch of horse-shyt! This is her way of blindfolding us, before she screws us over. You guys have no idea how many really good tenants have left this place because of this craziness and many more are set to follow in their footsteps.

omg! i cannot stand these -------- people! you all are so right! they absolutely STINK! now they are claiming that the reason clarendon park looks neglected is because of the heat! LMAO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! priceless! the heat never stopped -------- from trimming the bushes.
management has driven so many tenants away, they are now DESPERATE for new SUCKERS! the latest newsletter (9/6/07) is asking us to refer people to this hellhole! LMAO! sorry, but i cannot think of anyone that i hate that much! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!
my wife and i actually enjoy reading these newsletters. we love to poke fun at how stupid the author(s) sounds! but, we really wish someone would teach the investment manager the difference between the words then and than! LMAO!
i cannot believe that someone so uneducated has been put in charge of running, or should i say, ruining this community!

Here is what the new owners of Clarendon Park have to offer:
1. Pumpkin carving contest, higher rents, and bad service.
2. Resident socials featuring pizza, g-rated movies, higher rents, and bad service.
3. Holiday door decorating contest, higher rents, and bad service.
4. Poorly worded newsletters, higher rents, and bad service.
5. $100 off your rent if you trick someone into moving here, higher rents, and bad service.
6. A friendly smile from the office staff, higher rents, and bad service.
I am a little confused. Is this a so-called luxury apartment community or a senior group home? Maybe if they (management) spent more time making sure work orders were completed in a timely manner and less time pretending to be Martha Stewart, they (management) would not have to enlist the help of current residents to rent these less than remarkable apartments.
I really donā??t get their management style. They drive perfectly good tenants away with their lousy customer service and then they ask the remaining tenants to help them find new residents to alienate? Very interesting! Very interesting, indeed! I guess they (management) think that everyone shares their value system: anything for buck! But, I am positive that no one wants to lose a friendship over a rent reduction!
Obviously, they (management) have forgotten just how powerful word of mouth can be. Nowadays, there may be a million and one new ways to advertise. But, word of mouth is still one of the most effective mediums. You see, boys and girls, when you mistreat a customer and she tells a friend about it and they tell a friend, and so on and so on... word spreads like wildfire that you are the wrong people to do business with; which certainly explains the mass exodus from Clarendon Park.

the other day i caught the maintenance man forcing his way into my garage. he didn't use the keypad or a remote. he just forced the garage door open by hand! i guess you don't even need a remote to open clarendon park's garages. just do like the groundskeeper and force them open by hand. so much for security huh? the strange thing is that the maintenance man didn't even bother to close the garage doors after he was done poking around. he just left them open and walked away! he was acting so odd i actually photographed him in action. i have 3 months left on my lease and then i am done!
