I moved not long ago into a 2nd floor unit that was empty for 6 months. New carpet, freshly painted, thought it was a good deal since cleanliness is #1 for me.
Then I was told by a neighbor that there was a roach problem. Then I started seeing them, even though I leave ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD out and I'm a neat freak. They showed up coming out of my drain, in my silverware drawer and crawling up my wall next to my head. DISGUSTING. I notified the office immediately and they sprayed twice over a few weeks which didn't change anything. I am now talking to them about more pest control. The office people are extremely nice, please don't get me wrong. Very kind and helpful. But to me, roaches are intolerable.
A neighbor also informed me that the previous tenant had died on the living room floor and his body wasn't found for several days, a fact which was not revealed to me by the staff.
Also, I've had to call 3 times for repairs. My sink was clogged when I moved in; the sink was leaking; some outlets didn't work, which took 2 trips to fix.
In short, if you don't mind roaches and you don't care if outlets work, then fine. The office people are very nice and I actually like them. It's not their fault there are roaches but the point is, if I had known about the roaches and other bugs I would NOT have moved in, period.
