Two major issues

This complex would be pretty close to tolerable aside from two issues: Frequent (monthly) water shut-offs and tons of illegal aliens.
First, the water is completely shut off on pretty much a monthly basis to fix underground leaks. That's acceptable for a few months or a short period of time, but the issue has been ongoing since November 2003. The situation has lasted over a year; just how long will it take' The water issue makes living here truly awful. When you go to take a shower, you never know what you're gonna get, so to speak. Some days it's freezing cold or burn-your-skin-off scalding (doesn't matter which way you turn the dial). I'd rather have the latter, because at least you can take a bath (just let the water sit for about 4 hours to cool off). When you call maintenance, they just mess with the 'mix valves' and never fix anything. One time maintenance came to my apartment to fix my freezing cold water, and ended up doing absolutely nothing; they tried a million different adjustments and nothing fixed it. So basically, I couldn't shower for the next four days until they shut the water off to the entire complex to 'fix an underground leak'. After that, I think the water was lukewarm. EVERY DAY the water is a different temperature. You can never do dishes, except in cold water (sometimes the water in the tub will be scalding and the water in the kitchen sink will be ice cold-- figure that one out.) I wish they'd just f----ing fix what needs to be fixed already. My guess is, they need a whole new boiler system and repiping of the entire place, but it's too expensive, so the tenants can just suffer. Suffer until they give their 30 day notice to vacate.
Second issue: Illegals everywhere. Whenever you try to do laundry, there is always some woman that takes up 9 washers and dryers so she can do 17 loads for her children, her brother's children, her sister's children, her brother, her sister, her mother, father, and whoever the hell else lives there. To date, I've had two absolute strangers knock on my door and ask if I knew how to speak Spanish(!) Also, dining/living room furniture is NOW FOR PATIOS! To walk through this complex, you'd think everyone was holding their own miniature furniture sales. It looks TACKY.
