Based on user reviews on Forest Park, I decided to move here following a one-year stay in the Seattle area. I have only lived in the communtiy for two months, and cannot find enough good things to say about it. Both Mary and Renee in the office made my long-distance application a snap, and I arrived to find a clean, spacious, and quiet apartment. My apartment is a one bedroom with a den that serves as an office/guest bedroom. All of my utilites are included in the rent (including basic cable); I only pay for telephone and Internet services. The very few minor maintenance issues I have faced have been rectified THAT DAY! There is an apartment-sized washer/dryer in my unit, and units without machines may utilize free, clean on-site laundromats.
I enjoy a very private, large patio with a relaxing view of pine trees juxtaposed against palm trees and other tropical plants. The grounds are very well-kept, and the trees and shrubbery have just been pruned. General upkeep and maintenance issues are addressed immediately...for example, a malfunctioning gate lock was replaced the next day.
I cannot say enough nice things about Renee and Mary in the office. Both were extremely understanding after my first month's rent check failed to reach them when one of my office's receptionists inadvertantly took the addressed envelope from the outgoing mail pile an placed it into my personal file (duh). I will simply bring them the check from now on!
The apartments themselves are quiet and well-constructed. I have yet to hear any noise from either next-door neighbor, and double-paned glass windows drown out the traffic noise along 7th Avenue.
I have been assigned one covered parking spot, but I don't use it yet, as I don't have a car. This is not a major problem due to Forest Park's location in Central Phoenix. Supermarkets, a 24-hour drug store, restaurants, banks, and the local post office are all in walking distance. The nearest bus routes run north-south along Seventh Avenue (Route 8) and east-west along Indian School Road (Route 41).
All in all, Forest Park has been an exceptional experience so far, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
