This place is perfect for a single guy, like me. I have been here about 6 months, and I really love it here.
The rent is worth it â all the nice things included.
I love my deck, itâs probably 10 x 10 and private to all except the place directly across. Itâs about 10 â 20 degrees cooler on the deck on hot days than else where in the city, because of the shade from the wonderful green trees, covered in flowering vines.
There is a pretty active security and grounds maintenance crew. They patrol around. I would say single women should be careful here, as the cute walkways do create a sort of nerve-racking environment if you get scared in the dark. And occasionally shady individuals have been reported.
My friends call the place the âghetto ewok villageâ because on the outside it does look a little rough, but it looks sort of like treehouses on the inside, and it is sort of ghetto based on being downtown (ghetto bird fly-overs) and the cars outside the gate getting broken into. But the location at the same time is great because you are SO close to downtown, central ave, and the 51.
The maintenance guys are really great. The place is getting old, but when things do break, they take care of it right away.
The Studio apartment is great. I am in the 650 sq. ft. model and if you furnish it right (Ikea!) it seems a lot larger. Every inch is well used. Thereâs tons of storage built-in. I have entertained up to 15 people at once and it didnât feel too cramped or odd at all.
I rarely hear the neighbors. Iâm on the 2nd floor and occasionally my stereo has annoyed the downstairs lady, but other than that â noise is never a problem.
For security and privacy, I highly recommend an upstairs apartment.
If you want to put up a Dish, they allow that here if you wish â several people have done it.
Complaints: well lots of noisy kids in the pool sometimes, but whatever â families are better than thugs.
I HATE the stray cats. Theyâre so frickin annoying. They fight/screw all night long, on the roof, on your deck, etc. FITG needs to get rid of them. No protected parking for guests â but my friends deal with it alright â almost always somewhere to park on the street. Tell them not to leave valuables in the carâ this is phoenix afterall.
Over at RENT.com they ran a $100 gift card upon move-in to boot.
Bottom Line: The people who run the place are great, itâs a good value, great location, nice gated parking, good sized apartments, really - love it.

This complex doesn't have any 650 sq ft units, much less a studio at this size. All the floor plans are on Rent.com; the studios max out at 420 and the 1-bedrooms go from 550 to 715-nothing between.
