I just moved to Phoenix from a very upscale area of California, so I was looking for a very nice apt complex to move into. I found The Estates on Maryland. I was shown several apts, and was very impressed. They were beautiful. One week later I moved into my apartment and it was not cleaned or prepped for move in AT ALL! I had hired movers to pack and bring my things out from Cali, and had to postpone everything and lost money on that, and then pay for another months rent on my old apt which was $1500 just so I could have somewhere to keep my things, plus I haven't been able to work, so this has cost me so far about 2500. It took them about 4 days and three tries to get things done, and there is STILL stuff they have to come back and fix because they can't seem to do things correctly the first time.

I am not satisfied with the way my place looks now at all, even after they came to fix things. I was shown an apt with tile floors in the kitchen and dark granite countertops. I have fake wood flooring in my kitchen and the granite is a total different color. I chose to move there because everything I saw when they showed me the apts matched my things. It doesn't now at all. I was there for a week and was having such a hard time getting them to come back over and over to fix everything, I was crying my eyes out because I was so frustrated. I shouldn't have to supervise the crews to make sure they do things right, after 3 tries! Also the walls are super thin, and I can hear EVERYTHING the neighbors do, so I can't sleep, and they're very very loud. Across the way from me, people blair their music during the day and I can't even hear my tv. They're out on their balconies at 2am talking LOUD! People come through the complex at night bumping their music, and yelling, at 11pm-3am. From what I see, very undesirable neighbors living there, and totally disrespectful. Lots of barking dogs.

The manager is a total sweetheart though. VERY VERY NICE! She has done everything she can to help me and sincerely felt bad for my experience. I just think that they're very busy, as the complex is huge, and don't have efficient cleaning, painting, maint crews at all and bad communication.

I am use to living in places where the neighbors are nice, and quiet, and respectful and where I felt SAFE! And am use to moving in to a place and having it be CLEAN and SPOTLESS! It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't moved my things in my apt because it's still not finished. I am very dissapointed.

I will NOT be renewing my lease. And if I could get out of it now, I would in a heartbeat. I don't know if that is the "norm" in Phoenix or not, but I'll be moving back to Cali if it is because it's totally unexceptable. Thank goodness the manager is a very sweet lady.

I had the same problem. I went to get my keys the day before I was going to move and found out they didn't think I was moving in until the next week. I had to re-schedule movers, utility changes, etc. When I didn move, the apt wasn't painted and wasn't clean. They "painted" just before the movers arrived. The kind of people living here shock me and you feel like your in bad area even though the complex looks upscale. The Manager is nice but somebody has to held responsible for this place going down the toilet.

I moved there 4 years ago and every thing was great until they were sold and they raised my rent $200 when my lease was up I was not in a position to move at that time so I signed a 6 month lease and when that lease was up they raised an additional $200. I gave them 60 day notice to move they said weeks later that I only gave 59 day notice. I told them Dec had 31 days and so did Jan they said it was ok. When I moved out we did a walk through with management and was told everything was fine. when it was time to send deposit back to me they deducted $130 stating that the apartment wasnt cleaned and I still owed for one day because I gave 59 day notice. Totally ripped me off. Apartment was very clean.

wow its crazy reading how bad this place is now...when i moved in there the apts were only 3 yrs old...the staff was great ( i loved lorena) i felt safe it was clean, etc. the MONTH we were moving out i could areadly see things changing for the worst..being sold to greystar or who ever they are was a huge mistake. they couldnt even find my file that said i lived there, for a future apt. reference! the one thing that did bother me the most about living there though was the thin walls...like paper!! cheaply built in that sense but i loved everything else about the place..it was HUGE and i had a view of the main pool and could fall asleep to the sound of the mini waterfall down there. nice high ceilings and lots of nice size windows for lots of natural daylight. i can only what that place will be like in another 5 years
what a waste :(

Here here I am glad to see that others have my outlook on this dump they call a gated community. Lights out, the worsted cleaning of the facility I have every seen. I hate living here an also would break my lease if I was financially able to, on a heart beat. I will NOT renew and count the months when I am able to leave this place for GOOD. The management has NO concern for the people who pay there wages. The girls in the office are not friendly and show NO interest in the people who live here. Request to fix things just get blown under the table and excuses are all that are given when asked why things take so long. Becky should be removed from any contact with the general public until she is provided some customer service skills. At least act as if you have some interest in the people who live here. She is out of control. Angelia looks pretty but all you hear from her is a shy "hi" and walks away the few times I have had to stop in, not that I wish to make that visit every. Get a clue Greystar Management, you need to spend some time at the properties you are running, listen to the people who pay your mortage and the salary of the people you hire to represent your properties. It this property is rated this poorly I can imagine what the rest of yours are like.

First, this is a great web site. At least you get to vent your pent up emotions.

I couldn't agree more with the derogatory comments about this hell hole.

Management stinks for the reasons enumerated above, the place looks like a trash pit because management will not crack down on people emptying their cars of three days at eating at MCdonalds and there are enough balcony/patio violations to fill a telephone book.

I think you just have to frost over a mirror to prove you are alive and be able to write a check, whether you have money to cover doesn't appear to make a damm. All they are interested in is quantity over quality. That brings about the U Haul stampede on the 1st and the 15th when they start evicting people.

Maintenance on the grounds stops about 50 yards from the office and the rest of us are treated like the "tailies" on the TV show "LOST".

The big question of the day is how they rent any apartment that requires a golf cart ride from the office. If I was a perspective renter and I would stop the card and ask Becky of Angelia what happened to the nice appearance I just saw when I was in the front part of the building.

Anyone want to rise up and revolt?
