Staff is too ghetto and turning the complex into one!

the staff here sucks and that is why there is so many problems. I am a woman and knew how to fix all the things that didn't get fixed when I moved in. And whoever is cleaning the apts are getting paid for nothing...I want that job...I can atleast do a half ass job and do a better job than they did. I was upset from the first day I moved in as there has been nothing but lies told to me...one right after another. I am going to do everything I can to form a renters rights group and get these people on the job...there is no reason we have to settle for less than what we told we would get when we pick this complex to live in. And I for one work hard for my money and there is no reason they shouldn't work hard for their money too. I am not going to let up on them either.

When you turn your keys in make damn sure you get a copy of the paper they make you fill out. I went in the office today (a month after I moved out) and asked about getting my deposit back and they had it down that I turned my keys in a week after I originally did. The manager was a total ----- to me and it took me telling her I have a copy of the form to prove I turned my keys in on time to shut her ass up.

Wow, good to know I'm not the only person who would like to see something done about this place. I thought it was funny the other day a guy was getting mad at one of the workers for the new parking spots, for the 3rd time in four months, and the lady could do nothing about it. I thought to myself... "Complaining to her is gonna do you no good."
I would also be interested in this renters rights group.

I will for sure be part of that renters rights group!! They spend at the most 2 days "fixing and cleaning and upgrading" the apartments before people move in. I have seen this many times since i moved in 2 years ago. A month ago they even moved someone in the NEXT DAY after a tenant, a nasty tenant, had moved out. I have to threaten a lawsuit to get anything taken care of. This really is turning into a slum. If you are serious about the renters rights group respond to this and maybe we can post something in the mailroom about it. I have been wanting to post a letter telling people to visit this website to tell how they feel. But the last time i posted something about the management changing the grass courtyards into gravel and if you didnt like it to sign the paper it was mysteriously taken down 2 days later!

Read pages 8 & 9. Title 33, Chapter 10, Article 2, Section 33-1324, “Landlord to maintain fit premises.”
Also read page 15. Section 33-1381, ‘Retaliatory conduct prohibited.’ (Basically, it’s ILLEGAL for a landlord to retaliate against someone who complains!).
La Palma is clearly in violation of State Law for not listing the phone number of the owners and for not listing their Phoenix Agent (lawyer) – a LAW that ALL landlords MUST obey. La Palma’s information is INCOMPLETE! Here’s a direct link to THE LAW:

B. An owner of residential rental property who lives outside this state shall designate and record with the assessor a statutory agent who lives in this state and who will accept legal service on behalf of the owner. The owner shall designate the agent in a manner to be determined by the assessor. The information shall include the name, address and telephone number of the agent.
…a city or town shall assess a civil penalty of one thousand dollars against a person who fails to comply with this section, plus an additional one hundred dollars for each month after the date of the original violation until compliance occurs. The court shall not suspend any portion of the civil penalty provided by this subsection.
