When you first view Lexington on Central, you see it as a very aesthetically pleasing place in which to make your home. The exterior design concepts are striking, and the fact that you have your own private entrance makes the apartment feel more home-like. Even the inside of the apartments have some very nice features such as washer/dryer, alarm system, dishwasher, refrigerator with icemaker, pantries, and lots of cabinet and closet space. It is a very safe place to live, because it is a gated community. However, once you live there, you realize how poorly constructed these apartments really are. Noise from neighboring apartments is a big problem, and the walls must certainly be very thin. You can hear doors close, people talking, televisions playing, washers running, etc. These apartments use the cheapest carpeting you can buy, and just does not hold up well at all, and there is very little padding underneath. They allow dogs of any size, so throw the sound of dogs barking in the mix, and neighbors allow their dogs to use the lawns for a bathroom, and some of them do not bother to clean up after their pets. Parking is a total nightmare, and other residents will park in your space when you are not at home. If you ask them to remove their car from your space, they are very offended, and are not nice about doing it. There is virtually no guest parking spaces, so forget about inviting several friends at one time to your home. There is nowhere for them to park. Another problem is the fact that you are living right next to the canal, and mosquitos abound, and you cannot really enjoy sitting outside on your patio. The management at Lexington is very concientious, and they really do try to solve problems as they arise. But the construction, parking and location issues are just not something they can do much about. They try hard to make the residents feel welcome and comfortable. The management personnel change frequently, though, and there is not much consistency in this area. Management does ensure that repairs are completed quickly, and the results are always quite satisfactory. While it is overall a nice apartment complex, you can find better places for just as much, or even less money, that are constructed far better than Lexington. While they may call these "luxury" apartments, I would call them just "average" apartment living. I would recommend looking at other places of similar quality before putting your money into Lexington, because you can find better for the price.
