My experience at the Lexington on Central hasn't been terrible. However, it has not been exceptional either. I signed a six month lease and I will not be renewing it. The major deciding factor is the price. I feel I could get a similar apartment for less.
The good things I have experienced are safety. I have not had my car broken into or my apartment for that matter. The provide a free security system (if you connect it to the Phoenix Police Department there is a charge). It is a gated community and unlike what I have heard of at other gated complexes, it actually works 98% of the time. There hasn't been any issues with insects in or around my apartment. Also, I have not had a problem with noise. I do live next to two single people though. I don't think I've seen any kids of any age on this property the entire time I've been here.
The bad things that I have experienced are the parking. There really is no extra parking for visitors. It is usually taken by the tenants who have two cars. The maintainance when I first came was terrible! He took forever to put the door on my bathroom (yes, there was no door on my bathroom when I first moved in!) After he put the door on my bathroom it ended up falling off the hinges because he used the wrong size screws to hang it! My dryer wasn't hooked up correctly so it was spraying humidity all over my laundry room. Management did fire him recently, so maybe the new guy is more competent. As far as management goes, I really haven't seen or heard much from them. The one time I tried to contact the leasing manager I went after work three times and the hours say she should be there until 6pm. All three times she had left before 5:15pm.
