NEVER AGAIN!!!

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008

I personally leased apts for Mark-Taylor and had heard through the grapevine about equity residential. I was weary to lease with them but my 2 roommates loved the apartment. Here is a list of complaits:

1. SCORPIANS!!! Everywhere! We had our apt sprayed numerous times throughout they year but these critters would come right back. When moving out we found 7.

2. No cell service. I was forced to put my phone on roaming the entire time. It is necessary to have a land line in this complex.

3. Paint. Horrible job painting. There were glow in the dark stars on my bedroom ceilling, and patches throughout the entire place. We had painted a few walls in the apt. and the management informed us that to repain would be $50 for the paint and $50 for the primer. When we moved out we received a $675 bill saying that the entire apt needed to be repainted. They now charged us $160 for paint and primer. When we left we had asked the management to call and give us an estimate for the repaint process, they said they would, they didnt.

4. Bathtub. Was stainedand grey on day of move in.

5. Gates. Always broken.

6. Staff. Rarely friendly. Whenever I came into the office they were always eating or chatting with eachother and barely even noticed I walked in.

7. Late Rent. We never had our rent late. My roomamte came into the office 40min after they opened and informed us that we would be charged a $51 late fee. Even though with most apartments first late fee is waived. They said that used to be there policy, but isnt anymore.

8. No Communication WHATSOEVER!!!! When working for MarkTaylor as leasing associates we were required to inform a resident that their lease is soon ending and that in order to prevent any fees they needed to sign a release form stating that they were leaving at the end of their lease. We came into te office 31 days before the end of lease and were told by their oh so friendly staff that we had to put in a 60 day notice so we were forced to stay in this hell hole for and extra 29 days!!!

9. Apartment not ready at move in. We signed our lease on April 26th. It is not cool outside at this time. Our airconditioning did ot wrk when we moved in.
All in all, this place was not a place I like to call home. I would advise anyone who is looking in to moving there to run the other direction.
