My mother has lived there for 2 years now.

The first apartment was close to the preserve and was full of scorpions.

She got stung 2 times I counted 12 of them after they said the apartment was sprayed.

We moved her to another area which is not on the preserve and she has been scorpion free.

Recently she woke to have someone looking in her bedroom window at 5am.

The person ran when she turned on the light.

When we did some checking they don't have very good lighting.

I doubt the apartment will improve the lighting.

It's easy to walk into the area though the preserve or wash's that run into the area.

Also cell phones don't work at all we tried all of them alltel was the only one but once they were bought out by VZ the phones stopped working.

I've lived in AZ all my live and NEVER saw a scorpian until I lived at the Mirador apartments. Both big and both were in my bedroom (two different occasions). I had nightmares of scorpians crawling in my bed while I was sleeping. Staff said the same thing.........."We spray every week". Don't live there unless you like scorpians crawling around.

Oh my gosh. I've never seen one indoors either. What floor were you guys living on?

FYI. Mirador is located ON A MOUNTAIN. You took that chance of seeing AZ's finest critters by living here! As the office staff had told me at move in- Ask for regular pest control. Maybe that would solve your problem. Hey, for the fab views of the golf course and the Phoenix Mountain Preserve surrounding us, I'll take my chances :)

The staff said they never had any reports of them, but when I ran into the next door neighbor when we were moving in she said that she has been complaining about scorpions for 6 months, so when I mentioned that to the front office the girls said oh yea 2 apartments on either side were complaining. I was really ticked off and they were not wanting move my mother. I warned them if something were to happen to her being 75 years old pertaining to scorpions I would be seeing them in Arizona Superior Court. We had her moved the next day.
