The day we started moving in we discovered the air conditioning unit did not work. It rattled and clunked and sounded like it was going to explode. We notified the assistant manager, Debbie, who was very rude and said ALL of the units in the building sounded like that. How reasurring! We tried to live with it but the noise was unbearble. We even had a neighbor come over and he said it was outrageous. He let us into his aparment and his a/c unit was very quiet. We contacted the management again who sent out their Mickey Mouse "repair man" who was a genious with duct tape and glue. We were notifed that it was "fixed". We turned on the unit and it was the same loud noise. We complained again, had a repair man check it out again (while we were out) and were notified that it was fixed (for the second time). Once again we were not shocked to discover it had not been fixed since it was still rattling and banging. On the third complaint the assistant manager Debbie would not even talk to us. Finally the real manager contacted an a/c technician who upon inspection showed us that the unit was being held together with duct tape (thanks to our maintenance guy). The technican notified the management who then had to eat crow and replace it. Debbie never even apologized to us and had the nerve to say the unit was brand new. Yeah, back in the 70's. Of course the day after the unit was replaced it broke down and we were stuck in the apartment while the temperature was over 90. We went to the main office and were just in time to see Ms. Assistant Manager Debbie running for her car. She had closed the office early and was pretending she did not see us. We cornered her and she started yelling at us, saying that all the ac units were loud, not even bothering to listen to us. Hello, it's completely broken down, it's not making any noise at all. Later that night we were able to get in touch with micky mouse maintenance man who let us stay in the "model". The problem has now been resolved, but it's still too loud for my comfort. We have to blast our TV, which in turn pisses off our neighbors because the walls are very thin (yes you hear EVERYTHING!!!). Also, the washing machine is about 15 years old. When you start a new load, the water runs and runs without filling it up. You can wait for about 20 minutes and still not have a full load of water. Let's not forget the pipes under the sink. They are not properly fitted and constantly leak. I've since given up dealing with the idiot managers, though I must mention there is only one decent, competant person working there, Mechelle, who tried her very best to help us. I cannot wait to move, to bad we just signed the lease and have 12 months left in our prison stay :(
