Above average apartment, staff can be difficult to deal with.

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
I lived there for eight months, ending in Nov. 2007. I was really taken by the mountain view, great location and above-average furnishings. I thought that the crown molding, non-white paint scheme (brown) and split bedrooms (in 2 bedroom) were a plus.
The biggest problem is the chaos / disorganization of the leasing staff. The day I pulled up with my stuff to move in, I came upon and scared the heck out of a cleaning person still renovating my apartment (even though I knew it had been unoccupied for a month). I quickly discovered that my microwave was substandard. It was very old and didn't have the spinning thing in the middle. Having a modern microwave seems reasonable for a $1000/month 2-bedroom apartment. Getting that microwave fixed became a nightmare. I don't think the staff really understood my request and it was put at the bottom of the repair requests. I got the feeling that the leasing staff had no sway over the maintenance guys. The maint guys focused on whatever they wanted to do and the leasing staff just hoped for the best and dealt with irate renters. After about 2 weeks of no response to the broken microwave, I asked the assistant manager about it and got the typical excuses that it was on the list but others were ahead of me, that they were backed up with repairs and the maint guys were working on new move-ins. After about a month of complaining, they finally installed another old, beaten-up microwave that didn't fully heat my food. After another month of complaining they finally installed a new, fully-functioning microwave, which they should have done months earlier.
This episode ruined my experience at the complex. It might seem minor to the leasing staff, but heating a frozen dinner for 10 minutes to get it just hot enough gets old in a hurry. I've lived at 4 other similarly priced apartments and a minor request like that would have been taken care of that same day. I wonder how they would have dealt with a more serious problem like a noisy neighbor or crazy stuff that can really ruin your experience.
Other than that, the renters are generally really nice and easy to get along with. Maybe once or twice in 6 months did I see any parties going on. Living on a first- floor apartment, I rarely heard any noise from the upstairs people. Plan to pay extra for covered parking or a garage if you want convenient parking. The pool area and grounds were well kept.
If you're a dog owner, beware of a large brindle pitt bull that lives in an apartment by the east pool. I came upon it while it was being walked by a 10-11 year old kid who could barely control the beast. The monster lunged at my little 25 pound dog, nearly taking a bite out of her nose. The leasing staff told me that the dangerous dog had come in at a time when there were no dog limitations so they couldn't do anything to the owners. Stay away from that pool area or be very careful about walking your dog at the complex.
Overall, I would say I enjoyed the quiet and mountain-views from the apartment. However, I felt like I deserved a little better treatment from the sales staff considering I was paying $1000/month for the privilege to live there.
