I lived here for almost 2 years. Both of my apartments were really very nice, and I never had any major problems with the look or the cleanliness of the area. It's in a fantastic location with just about everything you'd need being less than 2 minutes away and a grocery store directly across the street and a park within walking distance as well. The community areas are very well maintained and everything always seemed to look brand new. Though there's always the few jerks who don't pick up after their pets, it wasn't sitting there for weeks, or even days, so I could walk through the grass in the middle of the night and not have to worry about stepping in crap. The area itself is very safe, one of those places where people always leave their doors unlocked. You get a lot of wildlife with the mountain being right behind the complex, but I never had any real problems with them unless someone had decided to put their trash around instead of in the dumpster(happens more often than you might think). The real problem comes when you actually do need something from maintenance.

In my first apartment my sink and toilet would always start filling up, with food and what I think was water from a washer, respectively. They told me that unless it started overflowing it wasn't a very high priority. The sink was never fixed. With the toilet I found that was an actual serious comment as nobody came out until my bathroom finally flooded. In my second apartment our thermostat and dishwasher were broken the day we moved in, and for the 7 months I was in that apartment they were never fixed despite repeated requests, including the one on the move-in sheet. We actually had to go out and buy a new thermostat and change it out ourselves because eventually we completely lost the ability to control our A/C, running our bill through the roof, not to mention making it a pretty difficult place to live. These guys also got me stuck in a very unfavorable situation when my roommate decided to stop paying rent. They wouldn't let me out of the lease. Said that I couldn't do anything about getting him out of there without somehow forcing him to sign his way out. They told me I was responsible for the entire amount, since he wasn't paying, and to get this point across threw notices on our door every single month.

While I did finally get the guy to sign the paperwork this was only after 4 months of dealing with the mooch. After we moved out I got a call from a collections agency, less than a month after the fact, saying we owed them another $500, which is insane because our apartment was impeccably clean. Not a single stain in any room, and I cleaned it again anyway just to make sure I got my deposit back($300). Despite that that meant that somehow they found $800 worth the damage somehow, swallowed up my deposit and asked for more. Mountainside can't provide me with any reason for or proof of this debt, and my old mooch is still living there. Really leads me to believe they're just trying to keep digging into my pockets since his are already turned out. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
