Check out your specific apartment before signing the lease

I have now been residing at Orion at Hermosa Pointe for 4 months. Overall, I am happy with the property. The management and maintenance staff are all friendly, giving assistance when requested. There is even a security patrol during the overnight hours. The grounds are well-kept, and I'm finding some great restaurants within walking distance.
My only complaint is the lack of sound insulation and the design of the apartments. I am in a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor. In most apartment communities the apartments above you are exactly the same. Not so here. Above me is a two story, three bedroom apartment - housing 6 (and often more) people. This means all the stomping around, clomping up & down the stairs, and kids playing is heard above my head at all hours of the day & night. Sometimes the rambunctious behavior is so strong that it wobbles my ceiling fans. I do not blame the people above me - they are just living their lives.
My advice - if you are getting a one bedroom, make sure you are on the top floor. It is worth the hike up the stairs to avoid the noise & frustration.
