DO NOT rent from here

First off, my boyfriend and I have lived in the Palisades for a year now and just got a new apt. somewhere else. For the year that I have lived in the Palisades I have not considered it home at all, I do not feel good about coming there everyday. When we originally had gone to look for apt. a year ago the management was so nice the first time we came in and as soon as we signed the lease agreement, it was like the management completely changed toward us. It went from nice to horrible we were given our keys and basically told to get out of the office. If we ever had a problem with our apt. when I called or walked into the office I was greeted with a very pissed off ugly stare from all the employees. My boyfriend and I are younger, I am 19 and he is 22, but I do not feel that is a reason to be treated any less than someone else. I was never treated with respect by the people in the office. We both felt that we were discriminated against because of our age.
We too had a scorpion problem in our apt. my boyfriend came with in inches of stepping on one and when we called to report it I got an attitude from the lady I was on the phone with. They said that they had sprayed the apt. on a Wednesday but it just so happens that I was home that day and no one came to the apt. to spray and this is after I had to bagged up everything and taken everything out of the kitchen, what a waist of time.
I got several noise complaints, for god knows what, one of them I got for a day that we were out of town, now how can you be noisy if you are not even there. One of the complaints was the TV, I was not aware that I couldnt have my window open and watch TV, I was on the 3rd story might I add. So when I went into the office to talk about the situation, I once again was given an attitude and I asked, So, I can walk around the complex and if someones TV is on with the window open and I can hear it, I can come up here and write a noise complaint. Sure enough I could.
I was given a notice for having a dog in my apt. and was told that I had to pay a $600 fine because we had not put a pet deposit down. I do admit I had a dog in the apt. one that was not mine. A friend of mine was in the hospital for 2 weeks because he got in a head on collision with a jeep while on a quad, he had several surgeries and it was not known whether or not he was going to live. No one could care for his dog and I was not about to let a 6 month old puppy stay at home all alone. I went to the office to explain the situation, in which I was given a horrible attitude and told that they would do nothing. I feel that there a certain circumstances that human beings should be companionate about things, but they did not care and I had to pay the $600 fine. All they are concerned about is getting as much money as possible from you.
If I could do it all over again I would never, I mean never rent from the Palisades again, I could go on and on about other problems that I had with the apts. If I could give any advise to future residents, do not rent from here you will just have a long list of problems.
