When I moved in to The Palisades last June, everything seemed so perfect. As of 02/09. that all changed. I recieved a notice on my door dated 2/21, that stated "caught son riding scooter on property" and referring to Sec. 10 Rules & Regulations. I checked section 10 of the rules and regulations I received when I signed my lease agreement. There was nothing of the sort in section 10 or any other section. I called the office and was told that the rules and regulations had changed. I asked if they changed the rules, why no one was notified of these changes and didn't get a real answer. Anyway, I got a copy of the new rules the next day. There are no scooters, bikes, skateboards or anything of the sort allowed on the property. Nice for the kids! On 2/27, I received another letter from the office that my son was caught on his scooter "for the 2nd time on the property unsupervised" and asked to be out of my apt. by 3/9 or they will start the eviction process. My son is 12 years old and in a gated community. I'm happy to leave so my son can be a kid at home. When my neighbor received a note on her door about her daughter (age 7) on her bike on the propery unsupervised, she called and asked them what the reason was for the rule change. She was told they made these rules because Phoenix is now the #1 city in the U.S. for kidnappings. Now, answer me this: Why, with Phoenix being the #1 city in the U.S. for kidnappings, would they make rules to make the children play outside of the gated community and want them to go to the drug infested park across the street when they're most likely to get kidnapped because we're in Phoenix''''' WTF'''!!! Also, in the new rules and regulations, it states that there is no food and no drinks in the pool areas; then why do they still have grills in all the pool areas'' This management company and the staff at The Palisades must be on illegal drugs! They are out of control and can't give a real, serious answer to any question they're asked. Also, when voicemails are left for them to call back, they don't call back. The Palisades should move their property to Sun City where they'll get the kind of tenants they're obviously looking for!!

This is not a new rule. The house rules have always stated that there is no skatebroading etc. on property. The only thing that changed in the house rules was the adding of the age of children at the playground which has always been stated by the office it was just put into print. This responder is just mad because she refuses to be to take care of her children and because of this has been ask to leave, we like it at the Palisades

In response to "anonymous", contrary to your ignorant belief, that has NOT always been the "house rule". And last time I checked there is no house rules to speak of, since we live in a gated apartment complex. The adding of the age is not the only new rule, the use of no bikes, scooters, etc anywhere on the property is new. And I know I am correct because I spoke with Alison in the front office regarding these new rules and regulations (that is the proper terminology, you may want to write that down). You obviously don't have children nor like children, stick to what you know....which is nothing.

Thank you guys for the info on this place, I had plan to move to this place, however I did not visit the office, reading all this stories makes me think twice, I don't think I want to be in a place like this, I'll keep looking some place else.
Thanks all

I think they were more concerned with your kids being out there riding UNATTENDED then on their bikes. Besides the posibility of them getting kidknapped, which by the way can still happen in a gated community, for instance we were recently notified a sex offender lives in mine, so it can happen any where and kids are more likely to get kidnapped by someone they know then someone they don't etc. etc. But besides all that, the complex I am sure is concerned about your child getting hit by a car. Someone probably complained when your child cut in FRONT of their car, which child probably wouldn't tell you and get in trouble about anyway. I know kids are constantly doing that in my complex and it is a real hazard. They are out riding unsupervised not looking where they are going and they dart in front of my car all the time. If I knew who they belong to I would complain to. Not because I'm mean and hate kids and want to ruin their childhoods and get thir parents kicked out of their complexes. It's because I don't want to hit a kid with my car. Someone was looking out for your kid and you. Because you didn't translate what probably happened and keep your child from repeating it the behavior the apartment had to take further steps to ensure everyones safety if you wont. Don't blame the complex.
