I liked my place a lot at first--The Management was really nice and always took good care of me. My buddies made fun of me living on (near) Van Buren, but except for a big flock of noisy peacocks, the neighborhood was pretty quiet. When the manager left in 2000, the place went to pot, sorry to say. I couldn't get the kid in the office to do anything, and the neighbors started getting sketchy. That's when I moved out, and friends still there say it's only gotten worse.
