Think twice before signing your lease

When I first visited Paradise Falls, I thought first floor apartments were neat looking since they were partially below ground level; my leasing agent, *-*-*-, showed me one of the apartments and I liked the location so I signed a lease, and scheduled my move-in date. To my surprise I was told the apartment would not be ready on the scheduled date and they could offer me a second floor apartment. I asked when the apartment I wanted would be ready and was told by -*-*-*- she had no idea; since I had made all the arrangements to move on a specific date, I had no choice but to accept. Not only did I not get the apartment I was hoping for, but I had to spend a significant amount of time switching the electrical service to the new apartment, and I was still not able to move in for a couple of days after the scheduled date.
I was glad that part was over and I was finally going to be able to settle in my new apartment; well, it wasn€™t as easy as it sounds!!!! I open the refrigerator and it was full of dead roaches€¦ I mean FULL of tiny dead roaches€¦ it was GROSS!!!! There were also roaches in the kitchen area. If this apartment was ready, I can€™t imagine what the other apartment was like. I immediately contacted -*-*-* and was told she would send someone to clean the refrigerator and spray the kitchen. A week went by and nothing was done. I had to clean the refrigerator as a week had gone by without me being able to have food in my own apartment. I let -**-*- know that I had to clean it my self but I still needed to have the apartment sprayed. When I opened the refrigerator the next day, it was full of roaches again; I cleaned it two more times and the same thing happened again and again. I reported to -*-*-* the problem and let her know that there were dead roaches in the vent of the refrigerator and that they needed to replace it. I thought this was going to be done immediately, but she needed the approval of management. Well I had to nag her every other day to get this done. Finally after more than 2 MONTHS my refrigerator was replaced by a new one€¦. 2 MONTHS without use of a refrigerator and it took them a whole month to come around and spray the kitchen. So I had to wait patiently, keep my cool and be considerate, but no one wants to show consideration towards me.

The other issue I had was with the card to open the gates. Since the date I moved in until a few weeks ago, the card did not work. Do you know how annoying this is' Almost every night I got home, I had to wait until someone came in or out of the complex to able to get in. Did I report it' Repeatedly!!! I think management was sick of having me in the office demanding to get that fixed. They kept insisting that it was impossible that it did not work, since they could see in the system that the card number was entered. Well, no one was ever willing to test it; in the meantime, I had to go through the same annoyance every night. Whenever I went out for a little entertainment passed midnight, getting into the apartment took considerably longer. Finally *---*- agreed to give me a new card last month since there €ścould€ť have been a problem with the card. Duh!!! But, I had to keep my cool.
The first five months or so, there was always an issue with other people parking in my parking spot. I called the towing company management asks me to call, and no one came. Finally, I had to start leaving notes on cars so they would stop taking my parking spot. No one really cared about my repeated complaints.
Another small issue was with some of the electrical sockets in the living rooms, some of them did not work. I was told this would be taking care of immediately, NOT SO. It took a couple of weeks for it to be fixed.
Now my toilet is not working properly and the garbage disposal isn€™t working either; how long after I report it do you think some one will have the dignity to come fix it'
Should I keep going' The common areas look dirty, the computer is always being used by children under the age of 16 contrary to what the policy says€¦etc. etc. etc.
