When I moved into this complex there were a multitude of problems that needed to be fixed by maintenance that should have been fixed BEFORE I moved in. I requested that someone come in and fix these items. Like any trusting tenant would have done, I gave them permission to enter if I was not home. I had put a $50.00 bill into a coffee can and put the can on the top shelf in my cupboards. When I came home, only one item had been fixed on the list of 8 things and the $50.00 was missing. In addition to this, many of my boxes and bags that had not been unpacked yet had been gone through. I was unable to determine what else had been stolen. When I approached the landlord, I was given a $100.00 credit on the following months rent. This was a nice gesture BUT it does not change the fact that I was robbed by maintanence.
In the last two months, the apartment complex put out an alert saying that they would be going into every apartment to check the smoke detectors and to check for water leaks under the sinks. They indicated that they were unable to reserve times so they would be entering apartments whether people were there or not. On 12-3-4, once again, something turned up missing after the maintenance left. This time it was hair clippers!!! Not a huge loss, except, they were MINE! I will be filing a report with the management company this time. They have entered my apartment on at least two occasions without my permission. On one occassion, both of my closets had been gone through.
Oakwood at Paradise Lakes employs thieves... live here if you want your things gone through or stolen.
