Oakwood at Paradise Lakes is definitely NOT paradise, but then what did you expect for the price' So far in the 4 months we have been here, things have been ok for the most part. Maintenance requests seem to be handled quickly. Office staff seems friendly, and we have plenty of amenities for the price. Downsides...the apt were in has lots of MOLD THAT WAS JUST PAINTED OVER TO COVER IT UP! which is our biggest complaint, and indeed the ceilings/floors are paper thin, and noisy upstairs neighbors are a challenge (security is not worth bothering with), parking lots are noisy all night with cars coming/going, music blaring, tow trucks unloading (why unloading you have to wonder) cars at 1 am. The playground equipment is old, and dangerous (with sharp metal), all the amenities are gross from people who don't care about anybody else and litter their cigarette butts, trash, and animal feces all over the complex. Yes our nieghbors are drug dealers, but what apt complex in Phoenix won't have a drug dealer or 10' All in all, it's an ok place for the money, just keep a close eye on your possessions and family to keep them safe. Phoenix is a city after all with big city issues, you can't expect country style living.
