So, my husband and I have been living in Equity for years now. We came to live here about 2/2008. We moved out in January of 2009. I hated the apartments the moment after the new manager took over. When the old manager was in, he was cool! He even had a party and provided alcohol for the residents. Then the new manager came. Then crap stopped happening.
Example: The freakin parking lot is narrow, but people park their Suburbans and HUGE trucks in the stalls. They stick out. I say this because the parking here is CRAP. My husband parked his bike in front of our car. Our bumper stuck out less than these trucks, hell it barely stuck out. So, one of our WHINY neighbors decided to TAKE PICTURES of our car and complain to the manager that our car was out too much. We parked like this because parking sucks butt around our apartment, and we wanted to be courteous, and not take up room for one motorcycle. Needless to say, the told us that we needed to stop parking like this. Well, as soon as we did, our neighbor Rammed her door into my husband's bike, tipping it over and causing several hundreds of dollars in damage. When we confronted the management, they said they would try to allow us to park our car there. It never happened.
There are BUGS BUGS BUGS. I am a fairly clean person (I have two kids, I'm as clean as I can be) but to have INFESTATION of COCKROACHES' Seriously'!'! Ants, Cockroaches... Spiders. It was terrible. I was thinking about moving. Until THAT night.
At approx. 2:30 am somebody in the apartment had gotten into a fight, obviously over drugs or money for them. I heard the argument, because I was up studying late for school, and it was right outside my window. They had walked over to where my girls' room was, and continued. Then silence. Then *pop pop pop pop pop* of a freakin GUN shooting off BY MY KIDS ROOM. This is was the icing on the cake. I mentioned it to the office, and they said "sorry there is nothing we can do". Now I understand, but not even caring' Seriously'
I feel really sorry for the one really nice girl that was there when I left (Don't know if she still is).
Also, Crystal Meth is a BIG thing here. You can smell it outside... sad.
Maintenance is FANTASTIC. The build of the apartment itself is great. I am not recommending this to anyone with kids. The neighbors don't clean up their dog's crap, and so you are constantly almost stepping in it. Once again, the office does NOTHING.
