Presidio- There are Probably Worse Places to Live, But I Can't Think of Any.....

First off, the office staff and management are frightening. A friend of mine was looking to move to AZ, and liked my Apts. when she visited, so she contacted management to inquire about rates, specials etc. (I warned her about the issues here but she wanted to check it out)

She spoke with someone in leasing, and they gave her all this good news. The next day she called back and spoke to someone else, who completely changed all the info she first got. No one knew what was going on, and the complete lack of customer service really upset my friend. She told me that she can't live in a place that is that disorganized and treats you like crap, she was right.

This place is a joke. Two weeks ago the exterior lights were COMPLETELY off for over three days. No big deal, right' WRONG. It was pitch black outside the apartments (outside doors, stairways, walkways, you get the picture). There were some lights on in the parking lot, but ZERO near the actual apartments for one entire building.

My big problem with this, is safety. As you may or may not know, there is a serial rapist who is assaulting women in the area. Lighting is a major part of crime prevention.

When I saw the lights were out, I called the emergency repair hotline, and I reported the problem. After being placed on hold, I was told that this was not considered an emergency, and nothing would be done. I was stunned. I wonder if Presidio would rather pay the electrician to come out and make the repair, or pay millions in a civil law suit'

The next night, same problem. I called again, and was told that no one had called about this issue yet. Again I reported the issue, and again I was told that it was not worthy of their time. WTF'

And they are terrible at follow through. The maintenance people are nice, and do good work, but just try and get them scheduled. I am looking forward to six more months so I can leave this third layer of hell, and go somewhere that cares about the people who live there.

Very accurate post. The lighting around here is a joke. Also, one (possibly two) of the pool gate locks is consistently broken, and the gates are often propped open, so there's another tragedy (and multi-million lawsuit) waiting to happen.
