Presidio at South Mountain
< | >
Living at Presidio was, quite possible, the worst renting experience I have ever had. Management is always slow when responding to requests (if they respond at all), there is a terrible amount of noise, and the grounds always seem to be in disrepair (dirty, crumbling, visually unpleasing). I moved to Presidio due to its great location in Ahwatukee and because the upgraded model that I saw was in excellent shape. What they didn't tell me is that half of my appliances would be old (I was promised upgrades on everything), I'd have a horrible ant problem (for which they did next to nothing), and that maintenance would only respond to requests if "they could find the time."
I wasn't asking to be treated like royalty, but a little respect couldn't have hurt. As soon as my lease was up, I hightailed it out of there and haven't looked back. If you want to live in Ahwatukee, look anywhere but Presidio.

Your experience at Presidio is 100% right on. But it's not just them. It's all of eastern (oldest section) Ahwatukee. All the complexes along 48th St. between Warner and Ray have become ghettos. The home values in the surrounding neighborhood are dropping as well, moreso than in the rest of the area. Frankly, Ahwatukee (as opposed to the rest of the Foothills area) has become an undesirable neighborhood.
