Loud, so-so staff, good space/money ratio

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
I've lived here for three months as temporary housing during a move from San Diego. As I was used to SoCal rent rates, I was pleasantly surprised to find an 800 square foot apartment for under $700, not to mention a bath-and-a-half. As far as just the apartment itself goes, I am pleased. There are a few minor irritations - the countertops were shabby, the bathroom fixtures don't work very well, a ceiling fan didn't work when I moved in - but for the most part, I am happy with the apartment.
The staff ranges from accommodating to downright rude. One superficially attractive girl was wearing a "Playboy" t-shirt in the office one day. There were a few problems with my rent, and the staff certainly did not handle the problem well. A few of the employees are rather helpful, however.
The outside facilities are okay. The pool near my apartment is nice, but always seems to have a lot of debris and it is a little too small. The mail room ("mail jail") is kinda scary. The parking lot gates do not always work properly and/or remain open all night.
My biggest complaint is that this place is LOUD. Really loud. If you have lots of loud kids, come move here and feel right at home. It starts every weekday around 6:30 or 7 when the ground crew start blowing off the parking lot and sidewalks with their gas-powered blowers. Nobody could sleep though that. People yell, Harley's roar by, even the stupid dryer in my apartment has the most god-awful BZZZZZZ when it's done, and since it is right next to the bedroom, it's hard to start the dryer and go to bed. You know that BZZZ is coming.
Summary - great for a temporary spot. I wouldn't recommend settling down here.
