I was living there with my father, caring for him. He had a problem with his balance and I asked the management to make one of the closer unmarked, unassigned spots by our apt as a handicapped to help him, NOPE they would not do it. as a result he kept falling down and they decided not to renew our lease when the time came. Siting they did not have to for any reason. This complex was the most unreasonable and uncooperative complex I have ever lived in. and very over priced

| Here at Rancho Sierra, we try to address any concerns or request our residents may have. We currently have 10 handicapped parking spaces throughout the community. With the design of the parking lot, we are unable to accomodate all parking requests however we do offer alternatives when available. In regards to the non-renewal of the lease, within the last two years, this has only happened a handful of times for unknown reasons. This particular issue we are unfamiliar with and have not provided a non-renewal for any such case to our knowledge. Finally, our prices are competitive within our market and are based on several factors that dictate apartment rental prices throughout the valley. We encourage and hope that any and all residents will contact the management staff to address any issues that arise. We are in the business of keeping residents and do our best to provide exceptional customer service. | |

10 Handicap parking spaces? Management states in other responses that there are 460 covered spaces and 270 non covered. 10 handicap spaces is less than 2% of the overall parking capacity. This seems extremely low. What we'll see here is a response that the 2% is equal to other properties in the marketplace. It's par for the course because Rancho Sierra would never dream of going above and beyond when it comes to providing service with compassion. 10 out of 730? I'd be embarassed.

If you receive a non renewal of lease after ANYTHING potentially discriminatory under fair housing laws, please contact the Arizona Attorney General office and file a complaint. Over 90% of the cases are settled. I did this and was successful. Do this especially when given a non renewal notice after having had no violation notices or late rent. Yes, management can legally refuse to rent or renew a lease for almost any reason, and even without giving any reason, but it cannot do so for any illegally discriminatory reason (race/ethnic background, nationality, disability, age, children, etc.) -- and all you need to show is that there was a strong possibility that this was the case.
