Not Quite the Third Layer of Hell

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I have lived at RS for almost two years. In that time, I have had a couple of run-ins with management, which have been good, and bad. They once lost my rent check, and the first I knew of it was when I saw an eviction notice tacked on my door. That was quite disappointing, since I would have hoped a simple phone call would have been in order. Especially since in over 16 months I had not been a day late, you would think they would consider that perhaps something was amiss. But no. I had to go to the office and inquire about what happened, and was treated so-so by the staff there. Eventually they looked up my payment record and saw that I was correct, and had never been late, at which time they waived the late fees and took my check.
As for the apartments and grounds, I still have not found anything better. I really like my apartment, it is beautiful, they let you paint accent walls, the appliances are nice, etc. Remember kids, this is not supposed to be Trump Towers, it's just an apartment complex.
I have neighbors upstairs that apparently are filming porn, because they will wake you out of a dead sleep with their screaming and moaning (*Note, if you're that loud, please be considerate, there are kids around, and if you just close your windows, it will save a really awkward conversation from taking place). Anyway, ladies, if you must fake it that loudly, please close windows, bite a pillow, etc. for the comfort of your neighbors.
Maintenance has been great at RS. The staff is super-nice and competent. I don't know the bald gentlemen's name, but he always has a smile. If anything, my lazy neighbors are a problem, they put all kinds of random crap in the trash chute, which takes up maintenance??s time. I have seen book shelves, mattresses, huge boxes, etc. It's not fair to ----- about maintenance issues taking a while, when you leave garbage around that has to be cleaned up by the same people who are trying to fix your sink. Just think about all the stuff they could do, if you would only drag your unwanted crap downstairs.
Anyway, overall, I highly recommend RS. With a great deli and wine bar downstairs, it's tough to beat. I am home hunting, but since I've yet to find my ideal house, I think I will sign another year's lease.
Happy holidays!
