Lots to recommend but be ready for some noise.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
Pros: Stylish, modern furnishings and apartment design (exterior). Inside, gated, parking garage (almost always an open spot). Safe once you get in the building, security fobs required to get in the building and onto your floor. Maintenance has always followed through on commitments (leaves document showing what was worked on). Many different apartment floor plans, designs, large square living/dining room - not cookie cutter. Large walk-in closet in my one bedroom. Place has a very urban feel, many apartments have attractive balconies. Fellow renters tend to be very courteous, eager to interact with you. Most renters are professional, young, interesting type people. Fantastic for dog owners. Great dog park on the grounds. Lots of interesting neighborhoods to explore nearby. Amazing Sirius satellite reception.
I've been here 6 months and would recommend it. Office people are friendly and willing to listen to your gripes. The office personnel do seem a bit flustered at times, couldn't locate my paperwork on a few occasions. When you check out other apartment complexes in the immediate area, you are sure to be impressed. I pay $900 for one-bedroom, 800 square feet. $100-$200 more than something comparable in boring Mesa.
OK here's a problem: Walls, floors DO NOT dampen sound. I've never lived with an apartment above me before so this might be normal. I hear every step the people on top of me take. I hear their vacuum, laundry, shower. People below me have complained several times about MY noise. Here's the deal- they are hearing my TV at normal volume. There is no subwoofer, no loud music, no parties in my apartment. It's just me and a tv and somehow they hear it. Luckily, the people on top of me are pretty quiet and you tend to get used to normal stepping sounds. But if some crazy kids moved upstairs I'd be hightailing it out of here. Also, I-10 gets pretty clogged up coming from the east and west so plan on sitting in your car waiting to get onto the 7th ave or 7th streets on-ramps to downtown.
Another problem is the carpeting in my apartment. The carpet is a really flat, non cushy carpet. The model apartments have a different carpet, more plush. Make sure they provide the same carpet as in the models or explain that it is not the same. The carpet picks up stains and dirt unlike anything I've ever seen before. I've lived here a year and the carpets are sooo dirty. It freaks me out and is a major reason why I'm moving in a month. The carpet is also tearing out in a few places. This is after one year of normal use (just me and a small dog). The office folk have said that after one year they will replace the carpet (probably after a million complaints about this issue). The thought of relocating all my furniture for new carpeting isn't very appealing. The carpet is so dirty that I can't stand looking at it. I've never seen anything like it at other apartments. And the "tile" that is found in the kitchen and bathroom attracts stains like crazy. The tile gets very dirty, very fast. You'll be cleaning that once a week to keep it clean. My tile also came with a pink stain that grosses me out. Bad choices for tile and carpet.
It is very cool living downtown, walking distance to awesome downtown library and YMCA Fitness center. Light rail will be 1 block away. I would recommend requesting a top floor apartment. Be aware that noise could become a big issue. You'll never be able to listen to loud music in your apartment without complaints from neighbors. About once a month a very loud false fire alarm will wake you up, 99% of the occupants ignore it. God help us if a real fire ever breaks out!
This is a great place if you work downtown or really enjoy and will utilize the downtown amenities/cultural events.
