Lived here?

I currently live here and have for about 20 months. I will not be re-signing my lease for another term and here is the most objective review I can provide.
Pros: my 2 bed/2 bath apartment has an amazing layout. The master suite is enormous and I love my eastern facing balcony. The kitchen provides a decent work area for cooking with a great-sized pantry. There are many closets, though nothing "storage" worthy. The natural lighting and tons of windows are great. I have never had issues with neighbors or paper thin walls. Overall, it is quiet here, but I am in one of the best locations on property. So, well... I love my actual apartment.
Cons: Extremely poor and passive management. I am not sure the number of times the staff has changed, but the recent group are so incredibly passive and unhelpful. There is no formal communication about anything. They put out an impressive newsletter, full of nothing. They don't enforce any of the rules, and the conditions here are declining fast. They stopped accepting UPS packages and changed the pool/fitness center hours to 24 hours. Doesn't sound bad, but they don't inform you of this. Recently, I called the office to let them know there were children sliding under an exposed barbed wire fence on the east end of the property. They said they'd send someone out to tell the kids to "keep it down." Hello?! I called b/c I was worried about the kids, not because they are playing. Parking has become an absolute nightmare, and it wasn't always like this. They just don't enforce the rules. At night, cars line the curbs and block other residents. But management does nothing to help. There is dog poop everywhere and the smell from open dumpsters always ends up in the apartment. The back pool has become increasingly filthy, and now it is open 24 hours... and we have no security patrol here. The lighting around the community is always out. Also, I have to pay $35 per month for a storage unit, because they did not build any storage in the apartment.
What stinks is that I love, love, love my actual apartment. The lack of control by management is forcing me to leave. Apartment living is hard and you have to be prepared that not everyone is considerate. That being said, you look to management to enforce rules and promote consideration. Unfortunately, they do none of that at Sage.
