WORST APARTMENT EVER From: rdavngr Date posted: 9/15/2006 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005   This review would be totally different if I had left before the new management came in. THEY were very friendly and even if they forgot about somthing you asked, all you need to do is remind them and they fix everything right away. The NEW management however is TERRIBLE!!! First off all, every time you ask them for anything, they give you a total run-around. Twice we rented out the club-house for a b-day party with about 3 weeks advance and TWICE they screwed it up. The first time, even after having us sign somthing that said we had it for that day, they accidentally had a party scheduled for the Art Institute THE SAME DAY. Rather than trying to find a way to give the club-house to us and find some other way to have they're party somewhere else, they asked us "Well are you sure you need the room'" Luckily it was during the transition process from old management to new, so they cleared things up for us. But Leslie (the new management lady) tried to blend the party with our B-day party. After the old management lady talked to her (which took some convincing) she finally gave in and had the party outside. The second time however was worse. Without the help from the old management people we had nothing but problems. The same thing happened where they made the same mistake even after we signed for the day on they're calendar, somehow they thought we were scheduled for the week after. So again, no room. After arguing with her a while we had her look to see who had the room and THERE WASN'T EVEN A NAME ON THAT WEEK! So nobody knew who even had the key. We had already bought food and cake and had nowhere else to go, and her only suggestion was maybe to find somewhere else to go. But she seemed not concerned at all what we had to do. Finally we asked her if there was an extra key anywhere. She said the maintenance guy had one but it was the only extra copy and he probably wouldn't want to give it up. After another 5 minutes trying to get her to just ask him she finally did, and he quickly gave it up with no questions asked. This is just examples of how lazy and unorganized and irresponsible the new managment and workers are. We moved out of there last January and have STILL not received our security deposit. They have been giving us a constant run-around from our new apartment trying to call them and them mixing us up with my brother whom also lived there to having us in they're computer system that we were EVICTED even though we gave our month notice a month earlier than we needed to. We are still waiting for our deposit and so far have been given many excuses as to why this hasn't come yet. ("Its in the mail", "The property managers are in a meeting or on vacation", "Leslie is sick", etc.) Everybody there in the office is either stupid, lazy, or just plain don't care. As far as the apartments and parking spaces and all that, everybody's bad reviews are dead on. One pool is always closed. The water is always being shut off for whatever reason. The security gaurd doesn't pay much attention because our apartment got broken into while he was on duty (yet he seemed to care more when our tv was a little too loud) and once I even saw somebody fully clothed in the pool and seemed to be bathing. The only thing good about the place is that it has a fitness center which is new and a nice new looking office. But I believe they could have better spent that money on fixing up the pool and laundry room because they are in dire need of fixing. Speaking of the laundry room, almost every dryer is broken and doesn't dry anything, and a lot of my shirts went missing. This is a horrible place to live. Everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong here. Avoid at all costs.
