I agree with the posters who would not recommend this place. The positive reviews are probably coming from the people who work there.
First off, the staff is really horrible. The assistant manager, J, is probably the rudest and most arrogant assistant manager I have ever met. If I had not been in a hurry to move in, his attitude alone would have been enough for me to look elsewhere. However, I made the mistake of moving in.
When I first moved in back in Dec 06, there was lots of noice due to the consruction that would begin at 6am in the morning... Workers yelling and lots of banging. As for the neighbors, it is true that you can hear them all of the time! Very poor insulation in these units. TV's, radio, talking, toilets, yelling, arguing, snoring, and couples being intimate... You can hear everything!! They also did a very poor job weatherstripping because I do get loads of bugs no matter how much I spray. I also have to run the AC all of the time because the place is so HOT!! My APS is a minimum of $100/mo.
Security' LOL... The front gate has been broken for over a month. The other gates are routinely left open. You get all kind of riff-raff walking through the complex. And it is true about the parties... So much noise that the Shade had to start their own "courtesy noise patrol" that is never to be found! What a joke!
The location is ideal if you want to live in North Phoenix. However, there really is not much else to recommend about the Shade apartments. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk
