Do you have a full-service landlord? I do.

After living just 2 months at Villager, I have decided that I will never live in a large corporate complex again. I have every intention of living at Villager as long as I can. It s that good. I am more than satisfied with the quality of living, the community, the customer service, location, and the rent price. Edvard the owner and manager always goes beyond the call of duty to make sure I m happy. While the property is older, Edvard has remodeled apartments with high standards and it is well looked after. The place has character and it reflects the hard work that Edvard invests. I feel as if I am living under his roof, rather than living under the roof of a generic building J in a typical corporate complex.

I have had a frustrating and annoying past with corporate apartments. They make lots of mistakes that they don t own up to and their primary concern is how to make the most money possible by shaking money out of you with hidden fees and nickeling and diming tactics upon move-out. They can put on a nice and friendly fa ade, but there s very little customer service to be found. You need a place to live, so you don t have a choice.

But you can choose Villager. When I moved in, I was welcomed with a fruit basket full of goodies, drinks in the fridge, and bathroom products. Edvard even helped me move in. He has helped me with 2 quick errands and I know that he has taken residents to the hospital in an emergency. I can call him at anytime and he is always around. His handyman is great (no more questionable handymen at corporate apartments!) and he has hung up pictures and added a shelf and an outlet in my bathroom for my shavers. He has helped assemble furniture. I was shocked by the dedication I have found here when I moved in.

Customer service and resident satisfaction is under-rated. The lowest price usually isn t the best. While my rent price is higher than my friends for the same type of apartment, I have much more included, like trash, water, and even TV (electric not included). And then there s the one of a kind landlord. And I don t have to worry about hassles, hidden fees, etc. so it s definitely a great value. My friends are amazed by what I am getting for my rent price. I loved the application process. It was so easy.

If you forced me to say something critical, there are a few minor quirks . The complex seems to lose power easily during big monsoon storms. Usually for 1-2 hours. I think it has happened 3 times this year, which is apparently rare. I can live with this.

There is not much curb appeal. It s both a plus and a minus that the community is tucked away behind the coin laundry. The driveway entrance is beautiful. However, since I am a daily light-rail commuter I never walk down over there. Instead, I walk through the ripped up coin laundry parking lot and broken glass every day. But I did not move to the Villager for curb appeal it s the least of my priorities. You can t have it all.

If your priorities are satisfaction, value, and quality (and you re tired of moving from one complex to the next) this is where you should live. I am an ASU student who commutes to the Tempe campus via the light-rail every day and I don t regret moving far away from campus. The grass really is greener here. Every time I see the Welcome Home sign at the front of the building I think to myself It s good to be home!

While requested, Edvard did not pay me to write this review. The Villager thrives on business from resident satisfaction; I understand my review is important to maintain a steady flow of great residents moving into our community.
